Kate Middleton 'secretly' attended a music festival alongside her longtime friend Rose Hanbury, and the Princess of Wales was 'nervous' about the outing.
Kate Middleton is letting her hair down! The Princess of Wales was spotted at a music festival alongside Rose Hanbury. The two mothers went to the Houghton Festival after a party, but the former duchess was a little anxious about the public outing.
The 24-hour music event was created by DJ Craig Richards, and it features over 200 artists. It was reported that the gathering was Kate's first time attending a festival, and she went without her husband, Prince William.
"After dinner, one of the guests suggested that Catherine [Kate] go to the festival," a source told an outlet. "Catherine was nervous about the idea, but after much discussion with her protection officers, she went with lots of security. William wasn’t there."
Kate and Hanbury remained friends despite whispers surrounding the Marchioness and William. In 2019, U.K. tabloids accused the Prince of Wales of having an affair with the former model, but insiders revealed that the claims were both false and baseless.
"Both sides have considered legal action, but because none of the reports have been able to offer any evidence about what the so-called dispute is about, they have chosen to ignore it," reporter Richard Kay shared. "These hurtful rumors of a fallout are simply false."
Although the headlines were painful to see, they brought Kate and William closer together.
"The affair rumors turned out to be a good thing for [William and Kate] in the end. Kate finds the rumors hurtful, obviously, and hates the thought that one day her children will be able to read about them online," an insider told a publication. "It forced her and William to sit back and examine their relationship, which they realized they should have been doing more often."

Kate's girls' night follows the news of another royal scandal. The Royal Observer previously reported William and Kate disagreed about how to approach the ongoing tension with Prince Harry.
"William wants to extend an olive branch to Harry," a source revealed. "It’s a shocking about-face, but he feels it’s long overdue."
"She feels that Harry and especially Meghan have done enough damage to the royal family, and will do even more damage if they’re let back in," the friend said. "When William told Kate he wants to bury the hatchet with Harry, she was incensed, and she and William got into a big fight."
