UK School Issues Privacy Guidelines to Parents Ahead of Archie and Lilibet’s Enrollment

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are set to begin their preschool at an undisclosed British institution. While they may encounter challenges transitioning from their former school in Montecito, the institution has taken steps to ensure the royal siblings do not feel out of place in their new environment. HELLO! has exclusively revealed that the UK school has communicated via a letter to parents, outlining essential information related to its operations, expectations, and community involvement as it prepares to welcome students into the new academic year.
Parents have been asked to show the Sussex kids "warmth and kindness" at their new school, according to a letter accessed by the publication. The outlet has kept the school's name private in line with the couple's request for privacy. "I know that our existing families will extend to them the same warmth and kindness that makes our school such a special place," the letter stated. Additionally, school officials cautioned parents and guardians against using mobile phones and cameras on premises, emphasizing that photos of children must not be posted on social media. "Further guidance will be provided where appropriate for school performances and other events," it added.
Grace Moody-Stuart, Consultancy Director at The Good Schools Guide, explained that the UK schooling system is "rigorous" compared to that in the US. She highlighted that the daily routine often features extended school hours until 6 PM, morning assemblies with hymns, and a varied but demanding academic curriculum. "I do know that academically [US schools] are a bit behind," she observed, adding that the UK's early structured learning often requires US students to catch up with the English curriculum.
Additionally, private preparatory schools in the UK may require Archie and Lilibet to attend classes or sports matches on Saturdays, resulting in a potential six-day school week. "On a Saturday, Meghan and Harry will be going to watch Archie and Lilibet playing in a match against another school, and those sorts of things are very important," Moody-Stuart added.
The Duke attended Mrs. Mynor's Nursery School, Wetherby School, Ludgrove School, and Eton College during his childhood in the UK. Though Harry has often expressed his love for raising his family in California, a close friend indicated he had long been motivated to send them to school in the UK. According to the Daily Mail, the friend stated that Harry believes his children are missing out on family connections and wants the highest-quality education for them, reflecting his strong friendships from his own school days at Ludgrove and Eton.
