Kate Middleton stepped out in a sleek grey suit for her first official visit to RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire on October 2. The 43-year-old royal serves as the station’s Honorary Air Commodore, a title bestowed on her in 2023 by King Charles. During the visit, while exploring the fighter aircraft and simulators, she revealed her youngest, Prince Louis's, big plans for the future. Middleton shared that the Prince has his eyes set on becoming a fighter pilot just like his father and uncle, Prince Harry. While she supports his dream, she added that she has words of caution for him.

Stepping into a Typhoon simulator, the Princess of Wales told the staff that her six-year-old is deeply fascinated by aircraft and wants to fly one himself. She added, "I'm going to tell them (her children) it takes eight years and a lot of hard work." Her lighthearted remark carried the same down-to-earth approach she and Prince William are known to take in raising their three children. The two have nurtured the dreams of their children, while also reminding them that dedication is key to it all.

Interestingly, Prince Louis’s fascination seems to mirror his father’s own aviation legacy. The Prince of Wales trained and served as a search and rescue pilot at RAF Valley in Anglesey from 2010 to 2013. He has on many occasions talked fondly about his flying years. This influence is clearly evident as the Wales children are often spotted animatedly guessing aircraft during Trooping the Color flypasts.

Prince George is also known to share the enthusiasm. In 2024, when the Prince was ten years old, William revealed at a Buckingham Palace Garden Party that George was intrigued by flying and could be “a potential pilot in the making.” During her RAF visit, Middleton also detailed that her kids were going to be 'very upset' that she had seen the 'Typhoon' without them.

Last summer, the Prince and Princess of Wales, alongside their children, visited the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford. During the visit, George was invited to tour the C-17 Globemaster III and was also able to raise the ramp and examine the flight controls. As for Princess Charlotte, now ten, her dreams have taken a more nurturing path. When she was five, Palace insiders told New Idea that she wanted to be a nurse. “She’s such a caring little girl who also knows what she wants, so they wouldn’t be surprised if she does take on nursing as one of her big causes when she’s older,” the source noted. William has since shared that she also enjoys ballet and netball.
