It seems like Princess Beatrice might just get a breather for a bit. Speculation of trouble brewing in her and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s marriage has been rife for the past few months. Despite their friends’ verdicts, the rumors haven’t left them alone. However, the British executive may have just tactfully shut down the rumors with one rare comment.

Mapelli Mozzi recently sat down for a Q&A with The Gentleman’s Journal, where he was asked “a few questions on life, style, and the people and places that matter to him” at a Long Summer Lunch event at Blenheim Palace on Wednesday. The property developer spoke about his time on the Amalfi Coast, in London, and in Mozambique before being asked what his “perfect holiday” would be.

He seemingly found the perfect opportunity to subtly refute rumors of marital trouble as he answered, “Getting off the beaten track, disconnecting from emails and news, and spending time with my family.” Mapelli Mozzi has two daughters, Sienna and Athena, with Beatrice, and shares a son, Christopher Woolf ‘Wolfie ’, with his former wife, Dara Huang. He further listed his “biggest luxury” as “experiences, travel, and time with family” and also shared that he relaxes by spending “time with family and friends”.

For the past few months, the royal chatter has reported that all is not well in Beatrice and Mapelli Mozzi’s marriage. In March, the Daily Mail quoted insiders, who claimed, “Things haven’t been great for a while between them, but Beatrice has been determined to soldier on and forge a path through,” further adding, “She wants to stay together, but he seems more and more distracted by work and travel. Just when she needs him most, he’s been pulling away.”

However, the couple’s friends came out in their support, saying that the rumors were “complete nonsense”. However, that seemingly did little, as speculation continued to follow the pair. The rumors came at a time when Beatrice was already undergoing personal woes. Her parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, had begun to face the repercussions of their involvement in the Epstein scandal, and there was fear that Beatrice and her sister, Princess Eugenie, might be next on the royal chopping block.

After Mapelli Mozzi’s subtle hint at a solid union, the rumors about marital difficulties may get a rest. The pair will certainly be looking forward to spending time and playing with Eugenie’s newborn daughter, their new niece
