Trouble in Paradise? Princess Beatrice’s Husband Spotted Partying Solo on Luxury Getaway
Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi's marriage is facing fresh scrutiny after a royal expert raised concerns.
There might be trouble in paradise for Princess Beatrice as claims about her strained marriage seem to emerge. The royal married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi back in 2020, and they have two children together. The couple recently made an appearance at Peter Phillips and Harriet Sterling’s wedding, but according to one royal expert, their marriage may not be all well behind closed doors.
Rumors have been gaining traction lately, as Mozzi has spent plenty of time traveling without Beatrice. Earlier this year, he headed to Los Angeles and Palm Beach for a three-week work trip before sharing photos from a luxury island resort off the coast of Miami in March. Meanwhile, Beatrice stayed at home in the UK with their daughters, Sienna and Athena. Moreover, the speculation was further fueled by the couple's recent trip to the French Riviera.
While the property developer was seen partying in Le Club 55 at St. Tropez, The Daily Mail reported that Beatrice had largely stayed in after falling ill during the getaway. Author Paula Froelich said in The Royalist Podcast, “She called him her rock, but here’s the problem. If you’ve got a rock, you would think that the rock would stick around in stormy weather.” The royal expert previously suggested that the relationship might be facing added pressure due to Beatrice’s father, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.
She added, “He’s been in and out and in and out all year, you know, going back and forth to the States. And then they took a lovely, fun, romantic trip to Saint Tropez at the invitation of their friend Gabriela Peacock. And she got sick. So what did her rock do? Well, he left her in bed and went out and partied.” The situation is made even more complicated by Beatrice's close bond with her father.
While the princess has reportedly continued to support Andrew through years of scandal, Eugenie is said to have cut all contact. Froelich claimed that Mozzi may be concerned that the fallout surrounding the disgraced royal could eventually spill over into his professional life. “I think Edo is kind of looking at Beatrice and saying, ‘No, do not have contact with your father. Don’t go around him,’” Froelich told Tom Sykes. “I think it’s much more to do with his own business... which has, of course, taken off since he left his ex, Dara Wang, and immediately hooked up with Beatrice.”
The royal commentator also speculated that Mozzi is increasingly wary of the baggage that comes with the disgraced royal's name. She continued, “But then again, at the same time... what did they need the money for? They’re living for free off of lovely Uncle Charlie.” Recently, a report from the National Audit Office revealed that the York sisters’ rents were covered by King Charles through his private income.
