Meghan Markle Called A 'Fantastic Collaborator' & 'Amazing Leader' By Netflix Partner David Furnish
Meghan Markle has at least one man in her corner.
At the October 5 HELLO! Inspiration Awards, filmmaker David Furnish — who's working on Netflix's animated children's series Pearl with the Duchess of Sussex — sung her praises.
"She's a fantastic collaborator, amazing leader," the Rocketman producer declared. "And we're just very, very excited to be working with, you know, someone as influential and as supportive as Netflix."
Furnish was at the awards show alongside husband Elton John. The two were honored as the Divine Inspiration of the Year for their work with the latter's AIDS foundation.
News of Markle and Furnish's project was announced this summer, marking the first animated project for the Sussexes' Archewell Productions.
"Like many girls her age, our heroine Pearl is on a journey of self-discovery as she tries to overcome life’s daily challenges," the Suits star said on July 14. "I’m thrilled that Archewell Productions, partnered with the powerhouse platform of Netflix, and these incredible producers, will together bring you this new animated series, which celebrates extraordinary women throughout history."
"David Furnish and I have been eager to bring this special series to light, and I am delighted we are able to announce it today," added the mom-of-two.

Meghan is listed as an executive producer alongside Furnish, Carolyn Soper, Liz Garbus and Dan Cogan. Amanda Rynda serves as the showrunner.
The streaming service's official synopsis describes the show as "a family series that centers on the adventures of a 12-year-old girl who finds inspiration in a variety of influential women throughout history."
"An exciting tale that weaves together fantasy and history, Pearl focuses on a young girl who learns to step into her own power when she embarks on a heroic adventure and meets important women from history along the way," shared Netflix’s Director of Original Animation Megan Casey. "We're excited to develop this animated series with our partners at Archewell Productions and Story Syndicate."
Meanwhile, Prince Harry is working with Netflix on Heart of Invictus, a documentary that will cover the Invictus Games, a competition for disabled and wounded army personnel and veterans.
