Prince William Picks Travis Kelce's Most Iconic Moment — He Wasn't Even the Star of It

Prince William joked about Travis Kelce’s most memorable moment being outside his football career.

The wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce is a highly anticipated celebrity event, with an alleged celebration planned at Madison Square Garden over the July 4th weekend following a private ceremony on July 2. The couple has maintained privacy around their nuptials, implementing tight security measures. Swift has maintained a longstanding friendship with Prince William, marked by public appearances together, including a charity performance in 2013 and his attendance at her Eras Tour in June 2024. Despite earlier playful comments about attending, it has been confirmed that Prince William and Kate Middleton will not be present at the wedding. However, the Prince of Wales made a surprise appearance on the Kelce brothers' podcast to talk about everything football and also spill some royal beans. 

In a short reel shared on the New Heights Show's Instagram page, the trio were seen indulging in light banter. Prince William humorously commented on Travis's surprise stage appearance during Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium, noting that his most memorable moment was as a backup dancer, rather than as an NFL player. "What is the more iconic moment at Wembley Stadium? Travis scoring a touchdown in 2015 against the Lions, or Travis as a backup dancer to the one and only Taylor Swift?" Jason teased. "Travis as a backup dancer." William cheekily replied. "Definitely a very proud moment of my life, for sure," Travis tagged along the joke. "I think you should do it again," William quipped instantly with a naughty smile. "That's right. Listen, if Hayes is going to sign up for a tour, I'll happily make sure that we bring her back to life," Travis hilariously carried on. The Prince of Wales' dry British humor shone through as they continued. 

William was referring to the Tortured Poets Department segment of Swift's Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium when the NFL player made a surprise appearance, dressed in a tuxedo and top hat. He participated in a choreographed skit, lifting Swift after her pretend faint and carrying her to center stage. The duo engaged with the audience, sharing smiles as Kelce fanned both himself and Swift, creating a memorable moment before she transitioned into 'I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.' Meanwhile, fans absolutely loved the future king's answer on the podcast. "He’s going to be her backup dancer for years to come!" a fan shared. "So glad I witnessed Travis Kelce on stage at the eras tour," another excited fan commented under the clip. 

"I can't believe they got him for this weekend. Just insanity and I love every second of it lol great job guys," one of the fans stated. Prince William's surprise guest appearance underscored the growing normalization of high-profile public friendships and highlighted his increasingly warm friendship with Taylor Swift.
