Prince William is reportedly growing increasingly resolute in his determination to sever ties with his brother Prince Harry, following the Duke of Sussex’s recent meetings with King Charles in London. Sources suggest that the Prince of Wales, long thought to have cooled his anger toward Harry, is now grappling with the emotional fallout of his brother’s high-profile UK return.

After Harry’s charismatic trip, which included a busy schedule of engagements and charitable appearances, royal experts have reunited in viewing his exit as 'a great loss to the royal Family,' GB News reported. But for William, the visit appears to have reignited old wounds that had, until now, remained largely dormant. An insider told the Daily Mail, “William is back at the point where if you mention Prince Harry in his presence, he would throw you out of the room.” The source added, “He’s doubling down.”

The tension is rooted in the perception that Harry’s return is part of a carefully orchestrated plan. Another source explained that the Prince of Wales is ‘infuriated’ that his younger brother “has pulled off a 12-month ‘master plan’ to re-ingratiate himself” with the family and the public. For William, whose relationship with Harry began as a mixture of grief, anger, and eventual indifference, the resurgence of his brother in the UK has been emotionally jarring.

“Originally [William] went through all the stages of grief over his brother,” one insider said. “When they first fell out, he went to Balmoral and went off his food. Just before the Oprah chat screened, he wept. Then he turned to anger and, when that stage was over, he simply compartmentalized it all and moved on.” By the time Harry’s profile diminished in the public eye and William had reached a point where his brother had become, in his own words, a ‘non-person.’ “He had fallen so far beneath his radar as to have disappeared from his mind altogether. He never expected to be regularly in the same postcode as his brother again, like he was last week,” the source added.

A further insider confirmed the shift in William’s emotional state. “For some time now, William’s anger had cooled to the point of indifference over his brother, which was healthy for his mental well-being. Now Harry is back – back in the UK, back at Clarence House, back in touch with his father and back into the subject line of emails.”

The resurgence of contact between Harry and the King has been closely watched across the Palace. On September 10, the Duke of Sussex arrived at Clarence House at 5:20 pm for a private meeting with Charles, marking their first face-to-face encounter in more than 19 months. This meeting comes after Harry’s return to the UK for engagements including the WellChild Awards in London, followed by a visit to Nottingham and Imperial College London’s Centre for Blast Injury Studies.

Palace insiders are now reportedly worried that William’s renewed frustration could have personal consequences. With the Prince of Wales once again feeling pulled into his brother’s orbit, sources suggest that aides are concerned his ‘warpath mentality’ may undermine the emotional stability he has worked so hard to preserve.
