William and Kate Reportedly Had No Idea About Charles and Harry's Secret Reunion
A new report claims Prince William and Princess Kate had no idea about King Charles' private reunion with Harry and Meghan.
After weeks of speculation, King Charles finally reunited with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their kids Archie and Lilibet. However, Prince William and Princess Kate were not part of the secret meeting—and according to a new report, the couple was allegedly kept completely in the dark about it.
As per Vanity Fair royal correspondent Katie Nicholl, palace insiders claimed that the plans were so tightly guarded that even William and Kate were unaware the meeting was taking place. A source claimed, “Not even the Prince and Princess of Wales were made aware that the meeting was taking place.” The insider added, “The agreement was made before they met the king that nothing would be shared—no photos, no details. It was a top-secret arrangement, and they pulled it off, and frankly, they are delighted about that.”
Fox News Digital also reached out to Kensington Palace for comment, though the palace has not publicly responded. Weighing in on the reported meeting, royal commentator Kinsey Schofield suggested it was less about shutting William out and more about Charles taking charge of his relationship with Harry. Schofield noted, "I don't see this as Prince William losing influence. I see it as King Charles recognizing that Prince Harry is his relationship to manage," before adding, "Prince William's priority is protecting the future of the monarchy. Charles can afford to make emotional decisions that William, as the next king, probably cannot."
The source also claimed that Charles was keen to see Harry along with his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet, leading to a last-minute visit to Highgrove. They added, “A time was agreed for the Sussexes to come to Highgrove... and it was uncharacteristically last-minute for the King. Everyone was sworn to secrecy so that the meeting could remain private.”
While the private reunion was taking place at Highgrove, the Prince and Princess of Wales were carrying out a public engagement in Windsor. The couple attended the DMMI Royal Charity Polo Cup at Guards Polo Club, where Kate watched from the sidelines as William took part in the annual charity match.
British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard told Fox, “The king's dealings with the Sussexes are personal family negotiations.” She continued, “This is about Charles' personal relationship with his son and grandchildren. However, Prince William will not be enamored with the private meeting. He wants nothing to do with his brother or be burdened with the Sussex drama, a drama that he no doubt will have to manage one day as monarch.”
