Princess Beatrice Set to Ring In Her 38th Birthday — But It Won't Be 'an Easy One,' Says Expert

The recent years have not been easy for Princess Beatrice following her parents’ scandal and subsequent rumors of marriage troubles.

The last few months have not been easy for Princess Beatrice following her parents’ scandal and subsequent rumors of marriage trouble. Amid speculation of her being in extreme distress, a royal expert has claimed that the year ahead "will not be an easy one" for the mother of two. The Princess is soon to ring in her 38th birthday on August 8; however, not much seems to be in her favor.

Royal expert Andrew Lownie, author of Entitled: The Rise and Fall of The House of York, in a conversation with the Daily Mail, shared, "Much has changed for the York family since Beatrice's last birthday." According to the expert, the Princess is dealing with several challenges at once, including ongoing scrutiny surrounding her parents and questions about her own future.

Lownie elaborated, "Her father remains under, in effect, house arrest in Norfolk with the possibility of being charged with sharing confidential information, her mother probably still in hiding abroad." The author also pointed to the wider issues affecting the York family, saying: "The publication of my book Entitled and Virginia Giuffre's memoir Nobody's Girl, the release of damning material about the family from Jeffrey Epstein's papers, the de-princing of her father and his eviction from Royal Lodge and questions raised over the daughters' subsidised accommodation at St James's Palace and Kensington Palace though not working royals."

Beatrice's parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, have both faced renewed scrutiny over their past links to Jeffrey Epstein. While Mountbatten-Windsor has denied any wrongdoing related to Epstein, the King has stripped him of his title and honors. Amid the fallout, Ferguson has been keeping a low profile in Switzerland.

Meanwhile, Beatrice's personal life has also been in the news lately. Reports have claimed that she and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, are facing marriage difficulties after they did not publicly acknowledge their wedding anniversary on July 17, something they had done in previous years. The couple was last seen together at Peter Phillips' wedding to Harriet Sperling in June, where they appeared relaxed and in good spirits. Since then, they have largely stayed away from the spotlight. While Mozzi was photographed partying in St. Tropez, Beatrice reportedly stayed indoors after falling ill on the trip.

Adding to what has already been described as a difficult year, Beatrice has also slipped in public popularity rankings. According to a recent YouGov survey, 34 per cent of respondents said they held a negative opinion of both Beatrice and her sister, Princess Eugenie. The sisters ranked only above Mountbatten Windsor and Meghan Markle in the survey. As family controversies continue to play out in the media, Beatrice is expected to mark her birthday without the lavish celebrations she once enjoyed.
