Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor continually makes headlines over controversial links to his alleged friendship with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. In July, The Guardian reported that Thames Valley Police are set to travel to the United States to interview relatives of Virginia Giuffre, including her brother, Sky Roberts, and sister-in-law, Amanda Roberts, as part of their ongoing investigation. As the inquiry progresses, victims are seeking political support to initiate a comprehensive public inquiry into the former Duke of York, claims he has strongly denied since being accused. Survivors of Jeffrey Epstein's abuse are set to meet UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham to discuss a public inquiry into the late sex offender's connections with the Mountbatten-Windsor family and the wider British establishment. Representing many victims—including Lisa Phillips—the UK Epstein Survivors Campaign has urged Burnham to deliver "truth and justice," citing newly released US Department of Justice documents.
In a statement acquired by The Telegraph, the campaign declared, "Records and correspondence concerning Jeffrey Epstein, Peter Mandelson, and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, including reported discussions involving money, finances, and their relationships with Epstein, demonstrate precisely why the public deserves complete transparency." Both Mountbatten-Windsor and Lord Mandelson were arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office for allegedly leaking sensitive government information to Epstein.
However, both men denied any role in wrongdoing and were subsequently released, a decision victims have criticized as stalling progress and delaying justice. While the former Duke of York remains adamant in denying all allegations, Lord Mandelson admitted to maintaining contact with Epstein for "far too long," though he insists he witnessed no criminal behavior. Meanwhile, Thames Valley Police stated they would widen their investigative net if additional victims of sexual misconduct came forward, with a spokesperson saying, "Our misconduct in public office investigation is ongoing. Misconduct in public office is a crime that can take different forms, making this a complex investigation. We encourage anyone with relevant information to come forward through the usual non-emergency police contact channels."
The UK Epstein Survivors Campaign has also requested a thorough inquiry into figures in power who "enabled, facilitated, or failed to stop Epstein’s global sexual abuse and trafficking network." In their statement, the group emphasized that survivors and the public deserve the full truth, asserting that no individual should be shielded from legitimate scrutiny by wealth, status, political influence, or powerful connections.
Last week, it was reported that Burnham may initiate a British inquiry into Epstein, although Downing Street denied this. Sources suggest he is more involved in the case than former Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer. He has expanded the responsibilities of Labour MP Alex Davies-Jones, the victim minister, to include a global focus. The UK Epstein Survivors Campaign expressed optimism, believing this could lead to justice and truth for survivors. Burnham has been praised for his compassion and willingness to listen to survivors, with Downing Street affirming that their voices will be prioritized and acknowledged. "These women were subjected to appalling crimes and then left to carry them largely alone. They deserve to be listened to. The Prime Minister was glad to meet Lisa Phillips earlier this year, and the Government will continue to make sure survivors' voices are always heard," a Downing Street spokesperson confirmed to GB News.
