Why Prince William Still Backs King Charles' Olive Branch to Harry Despite Their Rift

Prince William might not agree with everything that King Charles does, but he will stand behind him regardless. Charles and Prince Harry's reunion, which was reportedly kept secret from William, caused friction behind palace doors. However, one royal expert believes William will still support his father's efforts to reconcile with Harry, even if he has no plans to rebuild his own relationship with his younger brother.
Charles and Harry have met twice since the Duke moved to the US, and now it looks like the King could finally be ready to move past the feud and make peace with his youngest son. That seems to be exactly what is happening ahead of Harry's next trip to the UK. After the father and son quietly reunited last month, Charles reportedly offered Harry a place to stay at Buckingham Palace during his upcoming September visit. William may not see eye to eye with his father on the move, but it seems like he will still support it and thinks it is the right thing to do for the monarchy.
Helena Chard explained to Fox News Digital, “William believes the monarchy must be seen to do the right thing, even when it's painful.” She continued, “From what I understand, he felt his father didn't handle that firmly enough. He also believes in protecting it by drawing hard lines. But he's not the king yet.” According to Chard, the Prince of Wales still finds it difficult to forgive Harry and remains wary after everything that has happened over the past few years.
The King's reported offer follows an earlier accommodation mix-up during Harry's July trip to the UK. He was initially invited to stay at Buckingham Palace, but the offer was later withdrawn after the Palace and Harry's team gave conflicting accounts over what happened.
Despite that, Harry still travelled to Britain alone and was later joined by Meghan Markle, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The Sussex family met with Charles, giving the monarch a chance to meet his grandkids after four years.
