Why Meghan May Not Return to the UK Even if Prince Harry Does
A royal commentator has cast doubt on Meghan Markle's return to Britain, all while Prince Harry prepares for his upcoming UK trip.
Ever since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped down as working royals, one question has continuously loomed over the monarchy: Will they ever return? While recent reports have hinted at a potential reconciliation between Harry and King Charles, experts remain deeply skeptical that the Duchess of Sussex has any interest in reviving her life in Britain. In fact, one royal commentator recently doubled down on the theory that Meghan has moved on for good.
Kinsey Schofield, the royal expert, recently shared her thoughts on the topic on her YouTube channel, Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered, suggesting that Meghan may not see much reason to return to Britain. "I don't think Meghan really has any desire to ever come back to the UK," she said. Schofield went on to argue that the Duchess has already built the life she wants outside the royal fold, adding, "She has everything she needs. She has the title. She has the title that she can commercialize."
The discussion began after a recent Page Six report claimed Harry hopes to bring Markle and their children to Britain in the coming weeks. The Duke of Sussex is scheduled to travel to the UK in July for a special "one-year-to-go" countdown event celebrating the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham. However, whether his family will actually join him remains entirely unconfirmed.
Naturally, people are wondering whether Markle, Archie, and Lilibet might make the trip too. Harry has reportedly hoped for his children to spend more time with King Charles, but Schofield isn't convinced the family will be joining him. She said, "Do I think Meghan Markle will attend? I don't," she said. "Do I think the kids are coming? Absolutely not."
While reports of a possible reconciliation between Harry and King Charles continue to surface, relations within the wider royal family remain strained. Harry's relationship with Prince William is still believed to be deeply fractured following the publication of Spare in 2023 over the book’s sharp criticism of both himself and Princess Kate.
Even beyond questions surrounding Meghan's willingness to return, security remains a major concern for Prince Harry. For years, the Duke has fought to reinstate the taxpayer-funded security he once had as his birthright, which was stripped away when he stepped down as a working royal and relocated to California. Harry has repeatedly stated that he will not bring his family to Britain without what he considers adequate protection.
