Prince Harry Eyes UK Return With Meghan and Children — but One Reunion Remains Off the Table
Harry is eager to use the UK trip as a chance to bring Meghan Markle and their two kids close to the rest of the royals.
Prince Harry is expected to return to the UK next month for an Invictus Games event in Birmingham. While the Duke reportedly hopes the trip could eventually pave the way for Meghan Markle and their children, Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie, to spend more time in Britain, one family reconciliation remains as distant as ever.
The biggest issue for Harry continues to be security, but another problem appears far more personal. According to Page Six, sources who spoke to the outlet explain that the Duke hopes to reconcile with members of the Royal Family. However, a reunion with Prince William remains highly unlikely. Lately, reports have circulated claiming the brothers no longer communicate and that Harry does not even have William's phone number. However, these sources dismissed those claims as "nonsense." Irrespective of it all, William is reportedly still furious over Harry's memoir Spare. In his book released in 2023, the Duke had criticized both his brother and Princess Kate. Harry has not seen William since Queen Elizabeth II's funeral in September 2022. Hence, it has made any near-term reconciliation appear remote.
Despite this, Harry reportedly remains resolute about rebuilding family relationships elsewhere. Sources also told the outlet that he would love for Archie, aged 7, and Lilibet, aged 5, to spend more time with King Charles. Archie was only a few months old when the Sussexes relocated to California in 2020. On the other hand, Lilibet has visited the UK only once, during Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022. According to insiders, Harry hopes to fix the limited contact his children have had with their grandfather. Yet, no official meeting between father and son has been scheduled. Harry was last spotted meeting Charles in London in September 2025 at Clarence House.
But before any reunion can happen, security concerns remain unresolved. Harry has long stressed the fact that his family requires armed protection when visiting Britain. After the loss of his legal challenge over security arrangements, he told the BBC in May 2025, "I can't see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point." Although the Daily Mail reported in January that government sources believed security approval was essentially a "formality," as per Page Six reports, Harry and his legal team have yet to receive an update from the Home Office.
The uncertainty has taken center stage as Harry has continued to go public about his desire to wave the white flag. During his BBC interview, he also acknowledged that there had been “so many disagreements” between him and some of his family and how he had “forgiven them.” While talking about King Charles’ cancer, Harry also said, “I don't know how much longer my father has left. I would love reconciliation with my family. There's no point continuing to fight anymore, life is precious.”
