Meghan Markle Reportedly Steps Back From Social Media Amid Allegations Against her Father
Meghan Markle is seemingly protecting her mental health amid the scandal.
Just as her family and children settled into their new life, Meghan Markle found herself at the center of another media storm as “disturbing allegations” against her father, Thomas Markle, surfaced. The scandal has intensified with each passing day as more details have been revealed to the public. The Duchess of Sussex is seemingly taking steps to protect her mental health in these troubling times by stepping back from social media.

Royal journalist Andrea Caamano said, “Prince Harry told us himself last month that he is not on social media, and neither is Meghan, despite her having two Instagram accounts.” The couple has a team of staffers who run their social media accounts. “They have people who help manage and publish content on their behalf, allowing them to take a step back from social media for the sake of their mental health,” she added.
However, Markle’s hiatus from social media might not last long. “I also expect Meghan to resume her social media activity soon and give an insight into what has brought her joy in the past few weeks,” Caamano said. Before her wedding, the Duchess ran her own lifestyle blog and often shared glimpses of her life on Instagram. Watch the video here!

In what can be called a “small blessing in disguise”, Markle was already “out of the country” for her kids’ October half-term holidays when the news about her father broke. Being away from the “intense media scrutiny” during an “incredibly distressing time” would certainly have been a welcome relief. “A friend told us this week that Meghan is incredibly upset,” Caamano said, before adding that those closest to Markle in the “UK and abroad” were supporting her.
Caamano said the Duchess is focused on her “family” and “professional projects” right now. She added, “She has been busy expanding As Ever, and we have also heard recently that she has been looking at scripts as she explores a possible return to acting.” Markle’s new stint on “Australian television” is another “example of her continuing to develop opportunities outside the royal sphere”.

The Sussexes will reportedly be back in the UK towards the end of the week so their children can return to school. The family might move to Australia, as Markle will be a guest judge on Junior MasterChef.
