Poh Ling Yeow Calls Working With Meghan Markle a ‘Crazy Experience’ Amid On-Set Clash Rumors

Meghan Markle's television comeback is making headlines, and while many are excited for her return, the casting choice has sparked some backlash. The Duchess will be co-hosting MasterChef Australia Junior alongside Poh Ling Yeow. Following persistent rumors of a rift during Markle's previous guest appearance, Yeow has now addressed the speculation surrounding their time together on the cooking show, sharing that the experience gave her a new perspective on the intense media scrutiny Markle navigates daily.
Yeow recently spoke candidly about reports of a possible clash with Markle after the Duchess appeared on MasterChef Australia earlier this year. As per rumors, Markle and her team were unhappy with her on-air introduction, particularly the use of the word “royalty.” However, both parties later dismissed the claims. Now speaking to PEDESTRIAN.TV, the chef said, “Honestly, that was a really crazy experience, to actually watch the fallout.”
Yeow then praised Markle, adding, “Seriously, the woman has a will of steel, and I just have even more admiration for her." She also spoke about how quickly rumors can spread, explaining that the situation helped her understand what the Duchess deals with regularly. “I think rumours just follow because it’s just the nature of the beast, you know. Like, people are insatiable and horrible,” she added, before continuing, “I guess I was latently experiencing it because some of it even came my way. But it’s like, it’s fine.”
Yeow previously addressed the speculation during an August radio interview, saying she had “nothing to complain about at all” regarding her time filming with Markle. The judge also admitted that she was surprised by the amount of attention the rumors received, adding that the experience gave her a glimpse into the intense scrutiny Markle faces as a public figure. “It’s ridiculous,” she said. “It’s the first time anything like that’s kind of happened to me, so it’s been very eye-opening for me to see what she copes every day. It’s really full-on.”
Speaking about her return, Markle said in a press release, “I had an incredible time with the whole team at MasterChef this past April, so when they approached me to come back and work with this young group of talent, it was an easy yes.” She concluded, “I love cooking with my own kids, so seeing what these young stars create in the kitchen is going to be a lot of fun. I can’t wait to see what they cook up!”
