Royal Family's Easter Plans Revealed and Two Key Members Are Likely To Miss The Event
King Charles and Queen Camilla have confirmed their attendance for the Easter celebrations this week.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's arrest over his links to convicted s*x offender Jeffrey Epstein has stripped him of his royal privileges and titles. But it seems his family, including his daughters, is paying the price. The royal family will gather at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor this Easter Sunday to celebrate Easter. Sadly, Princess Beatrice or Princess Eugenie won't be able to experience celebrations with them this year, as their roles in the monarchy are under the scanner. All eyes had been trained on the Easter invitations this year to know if they would make it to the list. Now reports have confirmed that the York sisters will, in fact, not be attending the Easter celebrations.
It is being reported that after reaching a mutual agreement with King Charles, the two princesses have made alternative plans for the holiday. Beatrice and Eugenie had celebrated Christmas with the entire family at Sandringham last year, despite keeping a low profile ever since their father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, was stripped of his title in October. In the months following Christmas, a lot went down with regard to Andrew's link to Epstein.
Earlier this year, the Epstein files were released to the public, revealing personal correspondence between Andrew's ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, and Epstein. It was discovered that she took the sisters to visit him in New York while he was still in house arrest. The scandal has unironically snowballed into a scandal that the royal family is surely finding hard to contain. Amid calls to take away their titles, Beatrice and Eugenie were missing from the Cheltenham Racing Festival earlier this month.
However, reports suggest that the two princesses are still very much a part of the family and have already been invited to the Royal Ascot this year. Senior royal family members have also continued to check in with them through this tumultuous time. A friend of the two sisters spoke to Hello! about the matter and said, “The question is, would they want to go to a public event of that nature? They will get criticism whether they go or not – and not just that event. They just can't win. Bea has found the scrutiny very hard, especially the strain of the past few weeks. It has felt as though things have been in freefall, and she's being hammered and bullied by commentators.”
Further mentioning how Beatrice was navigating this uncertain period by following the example of her late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, the friend said, "Bea is keeping calm and carrying on. She learnt a lot from her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. This is a family in turmoil, but Bea is working hard; the juggle of full-time work and being a parent is her main priority, in order to keep herself mentally strong and her life moving."
As for the rest of the royal family, the King, along with Queen Camilla, is confirmed to be attending the Easter Sunday celebrations at Windsor this week. Reports have suggested that Prince William and Kate Middleton, who had skipped the last two Easter festivities, will also be making an appearance this year.
