Princess Charlotte May Keep Her Brothers in Line, But This Cousin Keeps Her Cheeky
Princess Charlotte and her cousin are proving that behind the formal appearances, royal childhoods are still full of fun.
Prince William and Princess Kate’s children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, have always presented a remarkably composed and disciplined front during public appearances, earning a reputation as some of the most responsible young royals. In fact, Charlotte has often been seen as the most composed of the three, frequently seen reminding her brothers to follow royal protocol. Because of this, it is easy to forget that she is still just a child with a fun and mischievous side. And while Charlotte is almost literally a copy of her incomparable mother, there is one unexpected royal family member who happens to bring out that ‘very different’ side to her.
This surprising royal is Mike and Zara Tindall’s adorable daughter, Mia Tindall, who is known for her adventurous and dynamic personality. According to a royal expert, the pair apparently shares a mischievous streak, turning into "double trouble" whenever they are together. Elaborating on this, royal biographer Ingrid Seward told HOLA!, “Princess Charlotte and Mia Tindall have become best friends; when the cheeky pair are together, that is. Charlotte is known for being super responsible for both of her brothers, telling them what to do and when to do it at royal occasions.”
Seward further added, “Mia is much more adventurous. But as total opposites, they become as one as children do when they are together.” Many royal watchers have commented on their evolving and engaging relationship over the ages, often spotting them laughing, chatting, and enjoying each other’s company. Mia and Charlotte have also been frequently photographed together, showcasing just how close they are. In many ways, their bond mirrors the one shared by their parents, Prince William and his cousin Zara Tindall, when they were kids. Reflecting on that connection, Seward noted, “Prince William and Zara were also partners in crime when they were young.”
She further elaborated, “Nannies would dread the two of them being together, as they were super naughty, noisy, and loved getting into trouble." Seward noted that these childhood friendships are vital, making official royal get-togethers far more enjoyable. Plus, at their young age, Charlotte and Tindall can “still get away with being cheeky and naughty.” But despite the chaotic energy they bring when united, everyone delights in seeing them have such a great time. Prince William has previously shared how much he loves seeing his children play with their cousins, and the royal family undoubtedly hopes this bond lasts a lifetime.
