Beatrice & Eugenie Have Lost All Support — But One Unlikely Royal Is Still Fighting For Them

The York sisters' titles may end up on the butcher's block next, but they still have one strong aide.

The past few years, what the royal family has been going through, would put to shame Queen Elizabeth’s annus horribilis. And yet it appears that the House of Windsor still has more storms to weather. The monarchy has been putting out fires ever since the connection between Jeffrey Epstein and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor became public. Now, a new problem lies before the family, in the form of Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie’s titles.

After their parents were stripped of their titles, the sisters might find themselves next in line to the guillotine. During this volatile period, they seemingly have only one royal member fighting on their side. And it is none other than King Charles himself. Weighing in on the same, royal expert Robert Jobson argued that though no one would give their titles up voluntarily, as “without royal duties, an HRH is a target, not a shield.” But he also notes that the titles tie them “to Andrew. To Epstein. To all of it”.

Beatrice and Eugenie have maintained a low profile ever since the Epstein scandal. However, they had continued with their royal duties and appearances, even after their father was stripped of his title in October 2025. But now, amidst rising calls to take away their titles, they may also undergo the same fate. While an official decision might soon be on the cards, Charles and Prince William, the two highest-ranking royal members, may have different opinions on the matter, as per Jobson.

“William is cold-eyed about the institution. Unsentimental. Catherine backs people who stay quiet and get on with things. Of the three, Charles is the only one who actually cares,” he said, according to The Express. Beatrice and Eugenie will look to lean on Charles as they go through the uncertainty over their roles in the family. But the monarch may not be able to defend them for very long. Jobson mentioned that although the King is fond of his nieces, he is not looking to do any favors for Andrew, and the sisters know that. “Charles loves those girls. Always has. But he won’t go to war for Andrew - and they know it.”

Jobson further gave his two cents on the ongoing Andrew saga, which is bound to make things trickier for the deciding royals. “In the end, the rule should be simple: you work for the Crown, you keep the title. You don’t, you don’t. Charles and William need to make that call,” he said. Currently, both Beatrice and Eugenie hold the title of Princess. Meanwhile, last month, Andrew and Sarah Ferguson were ousted from their 30-room Royal Lodge mansion in Windsor, suggesting that the repercussions of the scandal are far from over.
