Princess Beatrice’s Stepson Could Join Prince George at Prestigious $85K-a-Year School: Report
Princess Beatrice was allegedly spotted visiting Eton College earlier this month while exploring possible secondary school options for her 10-year-old stepson, Wolfie.
Princess Beatrice’s stepson Wolfie may soon be heading to the same elite boarding school widely assumed to become Prince George’s next academic destination. According to a report from the Daily Mail, Beatrice was allegedly spotted visiting Eton College earlier this month while exploring possible secondary school options for her 10-year-old stepson, Christopher “Wolfie” Woolf Mapelli Mozzi. The prestigious Berkshire institution, which is known to reportedly cost £63,298 per year (approx. $85,334), has long been viewed as the frontrunner for Prince George. Hence, it has made the potential overlap come off as an intriguing royal family connection.
The report has recently come to light as speculation surrounding Prince George’s next educational move continues to create chatter ahead of the young royal beginning secondary school in September. George, who is 12, currently attends Lambrook School in Bracknell alongside Princess Charlotte, aged 11, and Prince Louis, aged 8, near the Wales family’s Windsor home. However, Eton College remains the strongest contender for the future king. It’s especially because Prince William himself attended the same school between 1995 and 2000. According to the outlet, Eton may also appeal to Wolfie because of its convenient location, sitting just over an hour away from Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s £3.5 million (approx. $4.7 million) Cotswolds residence.
The school speculation has surfaced after years of reported tension surrounding Andrew Mountbatten’s living arrangements and his strained position within the wider royal family. When Prince William and Princess Kate relocated their family to Forest Lodge near Windsor in 2025, several reports suggested Kate was uncomfortable with the idea of living close to the disgraced royal while he remained at Royal Lodge. The latter has since largely withdrawn from public life and now reportedly spends much of his time in relative isolation following his move to Sandringham after being stripped of royal duties. Yet despite that distance, signs of unity within the extended royal family have quietly resurfaced over the past year.
Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have both appeared increasingly integrated into King Charles’ public-facing family gatherings. The York sisters were not only invited to Charles’ annual Christmas lunch but also joined senior royals during the Christmas Day church walk at Sandringham. At that time, the family presented a notably united front to the public. Wolfie himself has gradually become more visible within royal circles too, appearing alongside the family at events, including the Sandringham Christmas walk and Princess Kate’s ‘Together at Christmas’ carol service at Westminster Abbey.
Even so, Eton is not believed to be the only school under consideration for George. The next viable option is Marlborough College. That's where Princess Kate studied from 1996 to 2000. On top of this, A Right Royal Podcast recently explored additional possibilities within the Wales family’s educational planning. Melanie Sanderson, managing editor of The Good Schools Guide, suggested Wellington College could also be firmly in the mix, particularly for Princess Charlotte. “I’ve been told Wellington is a possible school for Princess Charlotte,” Sanderson revealed. She added that the royals may be “holding multiple places at different schools.” Still, if George ultimately enrolls at Eton, it may place him on the very same path now reportedly being considered for Wolfie, too.
