Beatrice & Eugenie Show Up at King Charles' Christmas Lunch After Snubbing Kate's Concert

While the York sisters gave Kate's concert a miss, and the senior royals were not invited to Beatrice's daughter's christening, they finally came together for lunch at the Palace.

With the festive season here, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie joined King Charles and the rest of the royal family for Christmas Lunch at Buckingham Palace. After what has been an exceptionally difficult few months for the York sisters, and indeed the wider family, the mood now appears to be gently lifting.

Beatrice and Eugenie's appearance at the gathering came as a surprise, as they previously snubbed Princess Kate's invite to her carol concert earlier this month. The sisters were all smiles as they arrived at the Palace, signalling togetherness as the royals embraced the holiday spirit.

While the royal family will follow their age-old tradition of ringing in Christmas at Sandringham and partake in their famous walkabout next week, the York sisters will likely give it a miss. Nevertheless, the recent lunch was a special one as it was the first time since 'the Andrew scandal' that the entire family came under the same roof. With the royal family's absence from Beatrice's daughter, Athena's christening sparking chatter last week, it seems the latest appearance was a conscious effort to put up a united front.

As per Express UK, Beatrice and Eugenie beamed as the paparazzi captured them driving into the Palace together. Eugenie was dressed in a black coat paired with white and red candy cane earrings. She had her hair tied in a bun while her sister, Beatrice, looked equally relaxed behind the wheel. The York sisters drove in just a while after the Waleses' family arrived at the Palace.

Prince William and Kate drove in with their kids for lunch and looked ready for the celebrations. Kate greeted onlookers with a warm smile, a gesture sweetly mirrored by Princess Charlotte. Dressed in a vibrant red ensemble, the future Queen looked every bit in the holiday spirit. The said lunch allows extended members of the royal family, particularly those unable to travel to Sandringham on Christmas Day, a special opportunity to come together, share the season’s goodwill, and exchange early wishes for the New Year.

It was an intimate family get-together, and the Waleses were seen departing after dinner. While William drove off, his daughter took the seat beside him with their nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borralo, sitting behind with Prince George and Prince Louis. Previously, Mike Tindall shared with HELLO! , what the lunch is like. "The family lunch there must be about 70 of us there – there are seven tables and the kiddies have their own little one in a different room. I was on [then] Prince Charles' table. It was lovely, really good," he shared.
