Meghan Markle's New 'Summer' Gift May Just Be King Charles-Approved Ahead of UK Visit

Meghan Markle recently launched a new product for the summer as her UK visit date draws closer and her father-in-law might just take a liking to it.

Meghan Markle’s UK comeback is on the horizon, and she just might come in bearing a special 'summer' gift for her father-in-law, King Charles. The Duchess of Sussex recently launched lavender honey through her lifestyle brand, As Ever, and the monarch, who is quite fond of lavender and honey, might just approve the delicious new product that combines two of his favorites. The speculated royal reunion may just get a lot sweeter for all parties involved.

Markle launched lavender honey and re-released single jars of orange blossom honey on Tuesday. “A floral gift of summer. Our long-awaited Lavender Honey has arrived, alongside a small re-release of single jars of our Orange Blossom Honey. Just in time for summer, our newest honey is softly floral with a delicate warmth that lingers beautifully. One floral, one vibrant and sunlit,” the brand’s Instagram page wrote. The lavender honey is priced at $32 on As Ever’s website and is currently not a part of any bundles or hampers.

Rob Shuter had previously reported in his Naughty but Nice Substack essay that Markle was planning on gifting Charles her jam as she wanted to “arrive with something warm and homemade instead of an expensive royal-style gift”, as per one source. Shuter further quoted a source who said, “Meghan knows the King loves gardening, organic produce, and homemade foods. She believes the jams are thoughtful because they’re something she created herself. She wants the gift to feel personal, not extravagant.” Maybe with a new product on the shelf, the Duchess might want to switch out the jams for a jar of lavender honey.

The King has planted lavender in his beloved garden at Highgrove. In 2022, he paired up with Penhaligon to launch a perfume inspired by the blooms at the Gloucestershire residence. As per PEOPLE, the special scent had top notes of geranium, lavender, and hyacinth, which were perfectly complemented by weeping lime, tuberose, cedar wood, orris root, and musks. The perfume was priced at $180, with 10% of the proceeds going to the then-Prince’s Foundation.

The Duchess herself is quite fond of lavender and was frequently seen using it during her Netflix show, ‘With Love, Meghan’. She suggested using lavender honey while making graham crackers with Christina Tossi, David Chang, and Daniel Martin, and the proposition was welcomed with a cheer. Markle and Tossi eventually paired their lavender-honey graham crackers with vanilla-bean turmeric marshmallows. And while lavender was often featured in Markle’s show, she didn’t restrict the use just to the kitchen. She added the essential oil while preparing soap with Jay Shetty and Radhi Devlukia-Shetty

As the Sussexes are reportedly set to reconcile with Charles in July, a jar of lavender honey would only sweeten the occasion. It might even help in cutting out some of the bitterness, as a reunion with Prince William and Kate Middleton looks unlikely
