Meghan Markle’s Reported ‘Peace Offering’ for King Charles Comes With One Big Question: Source
Meghan Markle is reportedly planning a special gift for King Charles during her UK return — but not everyone is buying it.
As Meghan Markle prepares to join Prince Harry on his upcoming trip to the UK in July, she intends to extend the olive branch to the monarch. This will be the first time since 2022 that the Duchess will be stepping back in Britain, and she will not be alone. Their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, will also be joining them for the visit. However, this one royal expert said Markle has a special gift prepared for the King that might raise a few eyebrows.
Markle may actually be planning a peace offering for King Charles during her visit to Britain. According to Rob Shuter's Naughty But Nice Substack, a source claimed that the ex-Suits actress is planning to bring Charles a selection of products from her As Ever lifestyle brand, including her signature jams and preserves, when they allegedly reunite during next month's trip.
“Meghan knows the King loves gardening, organic produce, and homemade foods,” the source said. They continued, “She believes the jams are thoughtful because they’re something she created herself. She wants the gift to feel personal, not extravagant.”
According to Shuter, the timing has caught some attention. The report pointed out that Markle has been heavily promoting her As Ever brand ahead of the rumored UK visit, posting carefully curated videos showcasing baskets of fruit, tea, and her latest products. A royal insider said, “That’s the dilemma with Meghan. Is it a heartfelt peace offering or brilliant brand marketing? With her, those two things often happen at the same time.”
However, sources close to Markle insisted there is no hidden agenda behind the gift. One source even joked, "She's not expecting the King to post about the jam on Instagram," adding that she simply wants to bring something warm and homemade instead of an expensive royal-style present. But the report said not everyone at the palace is convinced.
An insider adds, “The Palace has seen plenty of reconciliation gestures over the years. This may be the first one that comes with a product label. Some people will find it charming. Others will wonder if the gift doubles as free advertising.”
