Jay Shetty Confesses Why He 'Shouldn't Have Been' on Meghan Markle's Show
Jay Shetty and his wife and plant-based chef, Radhi Devlukia-Shetty had guest-starred in an episode of Meghan Markle's Netflix lifestyle show.
One of the biggest highlights of Meghan Markle’s Netflix lifestyle show was the innovative, star-studded line-up of guests that the Duchess of Sussex had hosted throughout multiple episodes. From top chefs to celebrities, ‘With Love, Meghan’ took the cake in the guest feature department. Popular podcaster Jay Shetty and his wife and plant-based chef, Radhi Devlukia-Shetty, appeared in the fifth episode of the second season, and the former recently made an amusing revelation about his experience on Markle’s show.
During an interview with Nine, Shetty credited his wife for holding the fort and jokingly confessed that he felt like a 'third wheel' between Radhi and Markle. “My wife is an absolute superstar. So, she gets all the credit for how amazing she was. I felt like a third wheel on Meghan's and my wife’s date. It was like Radhi and Meghan (said), ‘We’re totally having the best time’. I was a third wheel. I was not needed, I shouldn’t have been on the episode!” he joked.
Like many episodes of ‘With Love, Meghan’, the episode featuring Shetty and Radhi was also an intersection between cooking and craft. The plant-based chef showed her recipe for a vegan Indian meal, replete with a vegetable curry and a scrumptious naan, while Markle helped the couple whip up homemade soaps using freshly sourced olive oil. The episode capped with Radhi preparing some delicious cups of masala chai. The trio enjoyed the hot beverage by dunking the vegan cookies that Markle had prepared at the start of the episode.
While Shetty may be a master of spirituality, he is undoubtedly still a novice in the kitchen and crafts. Throughout the episode, he was seen adorably taking his wife’s lead, whether pouring soap into molds or rolling the naan dough. During his recent interview, he spoke about his experience shooting the sweet episode, as he said, “It was such a fun day, we had a really good time. Everything you saw was exactly how it happened, we forgot the cameras were there. Meghan was an incredibly gracious and wonderful host.” He didn’t forget to add one more anecdote about how well Radhi and Markle bonded. “And yes, I think her and my wife really hit it off. It was beautiful,” he said.
Throughout ‘With Love, Meghan’, the Duchess experimented and learned about various cuisines. From learning how to cook with spicy Korean flavors from chef Roy Choi to discussing old Iranian family recipes with chef Samin Nosrat, Markle tried to push the envelope with every episode. She also guided her guests through different activities such as flower arrangement, book binding, apron painting, etc.
Although the first season of the Netflix lifestyle show was an instant hit, the series couldn’t maintain that same level of connection with the audience over time. After two seasons and a holiday special, ‘With Love, Meghan’ was canceled.
