Meghan Markle Takes a Low-Key Trip to the Pub With Celebrity Pals for Her First UK Sighting
The recent outing made it clear that Meghan Markle is finally settling into Prince Harry’s homeland.
Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle returned to the United Kingdom with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, the Duchess of Sussex has kept a low profile. While Harry has been spotted publicly on several occasions, including his recent appearance at the 2026 WellChild Awards, Markle has reportedly stepped out only once. She made a quiet visit to SOHO Farmhouse, a private, members-only retreat just outside of London, where she was introduced to senior staff members amidst some understandable fanfare.
Staff were reportedly hoping she would become a regular customer, but it seems Markle is finally settling in. In a move that surprised ardent royal watchers, the Duchess of Sussex was spotted on her first public outing in Britain at The Three Horseshoes pub in Burford, Oxfordshire. Even more surprising was her company; in photos obtained by Page Six, she was seen alongside Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi. Keeping things comfortably chic, Markle opted for a casual blue top with white pants, white sneakers, and sunglasses. She kept her accessories minimal and wore her hair down for the occasion.
The group was seen chatting and smiling as they enjoyed their time together. This is far from the first time their friendship has made headlines; the Sussexes even attended DeGeneres and De Rossi’s vow renewal back in 2023. Beyond that, DeGeneres and de Rossi reportedly helped the Duke and Duchess of Sussex during their apartment-hunting process when they announced their move to Britain, offering advice on navigating the UK housing market and what to look for in a new home.
Beyond this, it looks like Harry may already be planning Markle’s first major project back in Britain. While chatting with Magic Radio presenter Gaby Roslin at the WellChild Awards, the Duke may have laid the groundwork for his wife's comeback gig. Roslin openly offered Harry and Markle a slot on Magic, which is one of the Duchess of Sussex’s favorite radio stations. Harry jokingly replied that he'd take the offer back to her and have a “serious conversation” about it, as Markle would allegedly love to host her own Christmas radio show.
