Prince Harry Transitions to New Role at BetterUp After Extended UK Stay
The new role comes amid news of Meghan Markle's estranged father, Thomas Markle Sr., being arrested by the FBI in Florida yesterday.
Prince Harry, an active mental health advocate, joined BetterUp Inc. as chief impact officer after stepping back from his royal duties in 2021. In his role, he aimed to promote proactive coaching for personal development and mental health awareness, emphasizing its potential to improve lives. The Duke made an unexpected, extended return to the UK with his family in August, which has significantly affected his role at the mental health startup and added new responsibilities.

Harry's job has transitioned to Senior Advisor. Alexi Robichaux, CEO and co-founder of BetterUp, confirmed the news on Nov. 6. “In this new capacity, he will focus on key projects with some of our largest enterprise customers, working alongside our team and the leaders we partner with. The move also gives him more time to grow his portfolio of investments, pursue new business opportunities, and continue his support of philanthropic causes close to his heart," Robichaux stated in a publicly issued statement.
Robichaux also thanked the Duke for his contributions. Robichaux and cofounder Eddie Medina collectively praised the Duke's deep understanding of coaching and his advocacy for its accessibility. "When he joined us, he was one of the most prominent voices making the case for mental fitness," the CEO added.

Harry joined BetterUp after being introduced to Robichaux by a mutual friend and utilizing the company's resources. BetterUp will maintain its partnership with the Invictus Games Foundation, continuing to support veterans in their recovery and growth.
In addition, Harry is actively involved in philanthropy through Archewell and founded the Invictus Games, which supports wounded, injured, and sick service personnel through sport and rehabilitation.

The new role comes amid news that his wife Meghan Markle's estranged father, Thomas Markle Sr., was arrested by the FBI in Florida yesterday for possessing child pornography. He has since been released on bond back to his senior health care facility. The investigation is ongoing, and the authorities remain committed to it.
