Prince Harry attended the annual WellChild Awards at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, marking his second public appearance since returning to the UK last month. Serving as patron since 2007, he has significantly contributed to the organization's success. While interacting with the young award winners, the Duke was captured in a heartwarming moment that highlighted his fatherly side.
The Duke stopped to meet the winner of the Inspirational Child (ages 4–6) category, Margot Jones-Billington. During their sweet exchange, Margot was caught admiring Harry's wedding ring. In response, the Duke engaged her in lighthearted banter, bending down to admire her sparkly sneakers. The two were seen laughing in an animated conversation, demonstrating that the Duke is every bit the devoted girl dad.
In another lighthearted moment, Harry displayed his witty side while interacting with seven-year-old winner Will Messer and his father. He humorously compared his own appearance to Stewie Griffin from Family Guy while signing a Funko Pop! figure for the young winner. Later in the evening, Harry presented the Inspirational Child Award (ages 4–6) and delivered a speech honoring the achievements of seriously ill children and their caregivers.
Harry previously attended the Invictus Spirit Gala Dinner and Awards in London on September 17, expressing how happy he was to be back in the U.K. Meanwhile, sources asserted that Meghan Markle stayed focused on their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, as they adjust to their new life. People reported that while the family arrived in the U.K. on August 26 and the children began school this month, they were switched to a new school after just two days due to security concerns.
"It is always a privilege to be part of the WellChild Awards and to meet the extraordinary children, young people, families, and professionals whose courage and determination inspire us all,” Harry stated before the ceremony. He went on to highlight the significance of the 20th anniversary of the WellChild Nurse program, which has supported countless children and families in spending more time at home. He emphasized that the awards celebrate this impact while honoring the remarkable individuals whose stories exemplify the achievements possible through compassion and community.
Meanwhile, the Duke once again avoided probing questions about the royal family from the media gathered to welcome him at the venue. Harry has consistently set aside inquiries regarding his uncle Charles Spencer's new memoir about his late mother, Princess Diana. Spencer and King Charles have recently been caught up in a public dispute after excerpts from the book revealed previously unknown conversations critical of the monarch.
