Meghan Markle Posts Lilibet's Birthday Photo, but It's Prince Harry's Hair That Steals The Show
On her fifth birthday, Meghan Markle took to her Instagram to share an unseen family photo.
Born into British royalty, Prince Harry has inherited many things from his family. Trust funds, titles, an eye for important causes, etc. And while he may have shirked away most of the privileges after his move to the US in 2020, there is one peculiar Windsor curse that has followed him even across the Atlantic, that of the notorious receding hairline. The ginger fade was particularly on display when his wife, Meghan Markle, recently posted a cute picture of them with their daughter, Princess Lilibet, for her fifth birthday.
The picture showed Harry lifting Lilibet in his arms, as Markle lovingly looked on. While it is unclear when the picture was exactly taken, the Duke of Sussex’s thinning hair seemed to steal attention from the adorable moment. And it may not have been for the right reasons, sadly.
The Duke is not unaware of his hair situation, as he had previously taken a dig at both his brother, Prince William, and himself in his bombshell memoir, Spare. While writing about the tense meeting between him, William, and their father, King Charles, at Frogmore after Prince Phillip’s funeral, Harry wrote about some of the observations he had made about his brother at the time. He had claimed that William’s receding hairline was “alarming” and more “advanced” than his own.
The ginger hair is one of Harry’s most defining features, one that he has passed down to his two children, Prince Archie and Lilibet. Both the young kids sport luscious auburn hair, a phenomenon that Harry didn’t think was possible before their births. During an appearance on the Stephen Colbert Show, he said, as per HELLO!, “I actually really, genuinely thought at the beginning of my relationship (with Markle) that should this go the distance and we have kids, that there's no way the ginger gene will stand up to my wife's genes, but I was wrong!”
Markle even gave a subtle nod to Archie’s ginger hair when she launched two special candles in honor of her children for Mother’s Day this year. Both candles, each titled after their birth dates, featured one ingredient as a tribute to them. While Lilibet’s candle included water lilies, Archie’s had ginger as one of the ingredients. While her own ginger locks may not have received a mention in her candle, Lilibet’s strawberry-blonde tresses looked beautiful in the Californian sun in her mother’s recent birthday post for her.
It was speculated earlier that Harry had undergone a hair transplant in his 30s. However, the Duke seemed to have embraced his Windsor genes in his 40s, as he now proudly rocks the look.
