Harry’s Recent Court Appearance Triggers Brutal Hair Jokes ― and William Would Be Amused

While some were happy seeing Harry back on British soil, others were busy comparing his balding head to a throwback snap his wife recently shared.

Prince Harry arrived in the UK for his legal case against Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL), but online chatter shifted towards a brutal yet hilarious issue. While the Duke looked ‘confident and ready’ to take down one of the biggest newspaper publishers, netizens were busy talking about his hair or the noticeable lack of it. On January 19, he stepped inside the Royal Courts of Justice at around 10 AM, waving and smiling at the paparazzi already anticipating his arrival. The images, as well as the video clips, soon appeared online. While some were happy seeing the Duke back on British soil, others were busy comparing his balding head to a throwback snap his wife, Meghan Markle, had shared recently.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex dominate headlines in whatever they do. Whether it be their outings or mingling with high-profile celebrities, their every move is carefully watched. That happened yet again when the two participated in the popular 2016 to 2026 Instagram trend. In the throwback black-and-white video, the couple was seen dancing around in the garden, captured by their daughter, Princess Lilibet, and for the next snap, Markle chose a 2016 image of the two while in Botswana for their third date. While the loved-up post was warmly received by many, fans soon began comparing the video with Harry’s recent court appearance, noting a visible difference in his hair between the two moments.

As the video made its way on X, fans rushed to detail their thoughts on Harry’s seemingly bald head, and it’s safe to say they did not hold back. A user playfully said, “Umm, did Harry leave his hair in Montecito? Because Meghan’s 'recent' video shows him with plenty of hair, but in the U.K. today he’s alarmingly bald… so either that clip is OLD or he forgot to carry his hair.” Another quipped, “His toupee slipped off in the car?” to which a third netizen responded, “Honestly, it looks like it did. One minute it’s 'full coverage,' next minute it’s scalp city. That hair situation is not staying consistent at all.”

Fans then upped the ante and began comparing Harry’s baldness to that of Prince William. “Serves him right for making fun of William,” a user highlighted. “‘Alarmingly bald’ I believe is what he called his brother. What does he call his current state of hair loss?” another opined, recalling the time when the Duke of Sussex joked about the Prince of Wales’ baldness in his tell-all memoir, Spare. Looks like this time around, William might have the final laugh after all.

Despite the brutal mocking, Harry has on several occasions showcased that he is not above laughing at himself. At the True Patriot Love National Tribute Dinner in 2025, while addressing about 500 guests, he joked about the stage lights shining on his thinning hair. He later returned to the subject while apologizing for wearing a Los Angeles Dodgers Cap while attending a World Series game instead of supporting Toronto’s Blue Jays. “When you're missing a lot of hair on top, and you're sitting under floodlights, you'll take any hat that's available,” he quipped, leaving the room in splits.
