5 Secrets Meghan Markle Revealed About Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet on MasterChef
Proud Mother
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have largely kept their two kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, away from the spotlight. However, when the Duchess of Sussex made a guest appearance on MasterChef Australia this weekend, she couldn't help but give small shoutouts to her children, who were most likely back at home in Montecito, California. Through her subtle mentions, she made some adorable revelations about Archie and Lilibet that made the episode sweeter.
Mama's Little Helpers
Markle had often talked about introducing Archie and Lilibet to gardening. The Duchess herself boasts of a green thumb and was no doubt thrilled that her children had taken to her hobbies as well. According to the Daily Mail, she told Jean-Christophe Novelli, Poh Ling Yeow and Sofia Levin about her kids' love for the garden. "The kids jump in a lot, especially with the garden. I think it's such a nice luxury to be able to have so much space and things to cook," she said.
The Dessert Rule
Right in line with her passion for gardening and farm-to-table food, Markle also revealed a unique dessert rule she followed with Archie and Lilibet. "'If they say, 'Mama, can I have dessert?', we say, 'If you can pick it, you can have it," she said, leaving Levin with a query, "You can't pick chocolate!" The Duchess agreed, "No, you can't pick chocolate, but you can pick a nice piece of fruit." However, the mother-of-two further mentioned that the family often indulges in one particular sweet treat. "We always have a nice, as my husband would say, pud," she added.
Super Kids
As a guest judge, Markle had brought along a bounty of vegetables and other organic produce for the top 4 contestants to cook with. She had also incorporated a usually unpopular vegetable, Brussels sprouts, which, surprisingly, Archie and Lilibet like. "I really wanted to do things that gives you something to play with. So, you have, of course, some citrus, you have lemon, you have macadamia nuts, some beautiful local Australian honey, Brussels sprouts—my kids eat Brussels sprouts," she said via The Mirror. The revelation earned the siblings appreciation from the MasterChef judges.
Great Eaters
Well, if two kids could like Brussels sprouts, they are most likely fuss-free eaters, and Archie and Lilibet seem to be every parent's dream when it comes to the food department. "The kids are great eaters, we're very lucky on that front," Markle revealed. However, she also mentioned that she and Harry have different taste buds.
A Love Language
It's no secret that Markle loves to cook. However, on MasterChef Australia, she mentioned that preparing meals is her love language towards her family and two children. "Food and cooking to me is really a love language," she said, "I think it’s such a great way to connect. It’s something that can feel sentimental and meaningful and It’s how I, it’s how I show my nurturing and love for my friends, family, and my kids."
