The Real Reason Behind Sarah Ferguson's House Hunt Near Windsor Revealed

The royal expert noted that the former Duchess of York would not 'upset' the monarch with another tell-all memoir.

Sarah Ferguson remains exiled from the UK as she continues to face personal and professional challenges associated with her past links to offender Jeffrey Epstein. PEOPLE! reported that the former Duchess of York has managed to evade media attention by setting up base in Austria. "Sarah is keeping a low profile. She’s staying in contact with her daughters and is awaiting the news of Eugenie’s baby," a friend had earlier revealed to the publication. However, a royal expert now claims that Ferguson is eager to reconnect with King Charles and get back in his good books.

Royal expert Phil Dampier explained that Ferguson might use the emotional connection between the King and her daughters to get back into the monarchy. Sarah "will want to try and get back in with the King for the sake of her daughters", Dampier highlighted. The York sisters had recently drawn criticism for their lavish lifestyle and the King's generosity in funding their rents despite their parents being involved in public scandal. However, the two sisters have been banned from royal events, appearing only briefly at their cousin Peter Philips' wedding in June.

The royal expert warned that Ferguson has a knack for doing something extraordinary and that she cannot be "written off" completely. "It’s quite extraordinary how Sarah Ferguson bounces back time and time again," he told the Daily Mail. The royal expert reasoned that Ferguson had been living with her first serious boyfriend, Paddy McNally, whose death presents a financial opportunity for her, as he was reportedly worth millions and likely left her a significant inheritance due to their close friendship. Dampier further revealed that the former Duchess of York has been house hunting in the Windsor area, suggesting a possible return home.

The royal expert believes that Ferguson might use this as a second chance to rebrand her name and career. "She will want to salvage her reputation and portray herself as a victim of Epstein’s lies and circumstances," he stated. Dampier also noted that the former Duchess of York would not "upset" the monarch with another tell-all memoir. Meanwhile, she was seen publicly beside the King in 2025 during the Duchess of Kent's funeral. They had appeared cordial in June as well during the Royal Ascot, where King Charles was captured welcoming her with a kiss on her hand, a rare moment between the two.

A source had earlier stated that Ferguson "has never asked for a property or any provision for herself" and will continue to "forge an independent life." Ferguson has been excited about Princess Eugenie's third pregnancy and is expected to reunite with her daughter when the baby is born this summer.
