Prince William and Princess Catherine joined King Charles for the annual Remembrance Sunday Service at the Cenotaph.

The Prince of Wales - wearing the uniform of the Lieutenant Colonel of the Blues and Royals - led a wreath after his father to pay tribute to those who sacrificed their life for their country. The annual ceremony takes place every year on the second Sunday in November. The day is meant to commemorate the contribution of the military to Britain and the Commonwealth and remember those who fell in the two World Wars and all armed conflicts since then.

Princess Catherine looked on as her husband took part in the annual ceremony in his role as Prince of Wales. She looked elegant as she wore an all-black outfit. She stood next to Queen Camilla on the central balcony of the Foreign Office.

As per tradition, the King laid the principal wreath as he led the nation in remembrance, which was then followed by other senior members of the family, which also included Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh and Princess Anne, the Princess Royal. The wreaths are laid on behalf of the institution, and so the personnel who take part are governed by royal precedence and official roles, rather than who has actually served in the military.

His Majesty - who is Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces - led the nation in two minutes of silence as they remembered the sacrifice of the men and women who gave their lives in military service to defend the freedoms of the UK and the Commonwealth. More than 10,000 representatives of the military and other civilian groups were expected to take part in the solemn event in the UK capital.

Prince William served in the British Armed Forces for seven and a half years. First comissioned as an This included a highly publicised tenure as an RAF search-and-rescue helicopter pilot. He trained at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst before serving with the Blues and Royals regiment of the Household Cavalry. In 2008, he graduated from the RAF College Cranwell, and in 2009, he joined the RAF Search and Rescue Force. This was before he served for two years as a full-time pilot with the East Anglian Air Ambulance from July 2015 to 2017.

Traditionally, senior members of the Royal Family have participated in the annual ceremony, which reflects the longstanding relationship of the institution with the Armed Forces.

This comes after the Prince and Princess of Wales joined King Charles and Queen Camilla at the annual Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance yesterday evening at the Royal Albert Hall, in Kensington, London. They were accompanied by Princess Anne, Sir Tim Lawrence, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.

The Royal Family joined veterans, serving personnel & their families for the highly publicised production. In a year of important anniversaries related to operations in Bosnia and the Gulf and Iraq Wars, this year's Festival of Remembrance focused on the experiences of individuals affected by conflict. It highlighted personal stories and memories through 'Blueys,' the light-blue airmail letters sent home by those who served.

The Royal Family viewed the tribute, which featured personal testimonies, storytelling, music, and performances which were dedicated to serving personnel, veterans, and their families, as they honoured the sacrifice of the Armed Forces community in safeguarding the nation’s freedoms.
