Princess Beatrice Reportedly Worries Andrew Will Be 'Crushed' Over Fergie's Plans To Move On
Despite their controversial past actions shrouded in secrecy, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson's truth finally caught up to them when they lost their royal titles. The former Duke and Duchess of York are said to have lost faith in each other and are no longer offering mutual support. Their sketchy dynamic has allegedly led Ferguson to seek a 'proper gentleman,' something that reportedly worries Princess Beatrice. A source claims she fears her father may be 'crushed' if he learns of Ferguson's wish to reenter the dating scene.
The former Duchess has reportedly been open to family and friends about finding a 'proper gentleman' to help her 'live life on her own terms'. The insider told Closer, "Beatrice wants her mum to move on. But [she] also fears how Andrew would take it." According to them, Mountbatten-Windsor's mental state is in shambles, particularly after the public humiliation he endured. They added, "She [Beatrice] fears the thought of being alone will be too much for him. She just wants her parents to find their own peace. They've been separated for decades, and clinging to the past isn't healthy."
Despite Mountbatten-Windsor and Ferguson being separated for over 30 years, the insider suggested that there may still be some unresolved feelings on Andrew's part. So much so that the idea of Ferguson finding a new man would reportedly 'break his heart.' Their unconventional and close relationship has often made headlines, as the couple, though divorced since 1996, continued living together at Royal Lodge for the past 20 years. Ferguson is also allegedly keen on stepping out of her ex-husband's shadow and branching out on her own with a TV deal and a tell-all memoir.
While the Palace has completely shunned Ferguson and Mountbatten-Windsor, the former Duchess is not keen to give up on their support and the money bags, just yet. The source continued, "If the Palace doesn't offer support, she's [Ferguson] ready to turn to the speaking circuit, TV deals, and even a tell-all book…She's had a tough few years – health scares, public criticism, and a changing royal landscape." They added, "She just wants security for herself and her daughters. The Palace wants things tied up quietly, but Fergie and Andrew are pushing back."
As for Fergie and Mountbatten-Windsor's current relationship, the former Duchess reportedly no longer believes in him and wishes to live separately. Weighing in on the same, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told the Mirror, "I thought they [Andrew and Ferguson] were joined at the hip, even though no longer in a romantic relationship… Sarah has always been so fiercely loyal to Andrew, defending him even in the face of the most sordid allegations. Perhaps she no longer believes him, or perhaps Andrew now wants to be on his own." This is probably why, if reports are to be believed, she is choosing to move to Portugal, which comes with the added benefit of being close to her two daughters.
