Meghan Markle Issues New Statement as New TV Role Takes Her Away From Harry and Kids
Meghan Markle has now been officially announced as a host of the upcoming series of 'Junior MasterChef Australia.'
Meghan Markle's career move has reignited debate, and this time it's not mere speculation. The Duchess will be returning to Australian television with Junior MasterChef Australia and will now be spending weeks away from home for the new role. As the news broke, the Suits alum shared her excitement about returning to Australian television.

The Duchess has officially been announced as a host of the upcoming series of Junior MasterChef Australia, which is expected to air on Network Ten next year. The announcement was made by Paramount Australia on Tuesday, October 27. Markle will be hosting the show alongside Australian chef and television presenter Poh Ling Yeow. The royal previously appeared as a guest judge on the 18th season of MasterChef Australia, but this time things will be a lot different.
In a statement, Markle shared, “I had an incredible time with the whole team at MasterChef this past April, so when they approached me to come back and work with this young group of talent, it was an easy yes." She continued, “I love cooking with my own kids, so seeing what these young stars create in the kitchen is going to be a lot of fun. I can’t wait to see what they cook up.” Paramount Australia also shared its excitement about the new series: “With Poh’s culinary expertise and Meghan’s enthusiasm for cooking and nurturing young talent, Junior MasterChef Australia promises to serve up plenty of inspiration as the next generation of Australian cooks steps into the kitchen.”

With the recent development, Markle is expected to spend several weeks in Australia while filming takes place in early to mid-2027. According to Australian outlet News.com.au, production is expected to be based in Melbourne. As such, there are high chances that her husband, Harry, and their children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, could potentially visit her during the filming period. However, no decision has been made about whether they will travel to Australia.

Markle's television plans come amid reports that she is exploring new opportunities in the entertainment industry. Earlier this month, a source told The Telegraph that she was “reading a lot of scripts.” The source added that going forward, Markle will be focusing on her family, lifestyle brand, and efforts to restart her acting career. They also said that she could take on charity work if she had time, describing her as “not a working royal” but a full-time mother and entrepreneur.
