Prince Harry's Security Fears Have Reached a New Level ― Sources Claim It's Now an 'Obsession'

Prince Harry's security battle has been one of the longest-running and most closely watched controversies ever since he stepped back from his role as a senior working royal in 2020. After losing his automatic taxpayer-funded protection in the UK, the Duke of Sussex launched a series of legal battles, arguing that his family's safety remains at risk. However, there hasn't been a confirmed solution to the issue, which is forcing him to think twice about visiting his homeland with his wife and kids. In recent news, these security concerns are once again making headlines, with sources claiming that Harry's paranoia has reached an even more intense level.

As reported by Rob Shuter's Naughty But Nice substack, Harry's legal defeat over UK security has left him increasingly convinced that potential threats always surround him and is even influencing many of his day-to-day decisions. Speaking of this, a source said, “Harry sees threats everywhere. The court decision didn’t just disappoint him—it confirmed what he already believed: that no one else is going to keep his family safe.” Those close to the Duke also claim that extensive security precautions now shape his routine.

For instance, all of his accommodations are thoroughly checked for surveillance devices before he reaches any location, and his access is tightly controlled by frequently changing his phone numbers and sharing them only with a very limited circle of trusted people. Insiders also claim that Harry is highly protective of his travel plans, making sure that only a select few know his whereabouts in advance. In addition to this, he has even requested the use of decoy vehicles on certain occasions to reduce the risk of being followed or tracked by potential threats or criminals.

A second source revealed, “Security isn’t just a priority anymore—it’s an obsession. Every plan starts with the worst-case scenario. He assumes someone is watching, someone is listening, or someone knows where he is.” Considering this, recent reports suggest Harry is re-evaluating plans for his upcoming trip to the UK. He is now uncertain about whether Meghan Markle, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet should accompany him. It's worth noting that it's been over four years since the kids last saw their grandfather, King Charles, in person.

While the security issue persists, the Duke is looking at all possible options to safely bring his family to the UK. A spokesperson for the Prince told PEOPLE, "The Duke continues to explore every available option to enable the visit to proceed safely and to give his children the opportunity to enjoy the U.K." While King Charles has allegedly offered a royal residence to the couple, "The issue has never been accommodation," his spokesperson highlighted, noting, "Safe accommodation is only one element of an effective protective security plan because risk follows the person, not the place." For now, until those concerns are addressed to his satisfaction, any trip involving Markle, Archie, and Lilibet is likely to remain a carefully calculated decision rather than a straightforward homecoming.
