Prince Harry Reveals Prince Archie's Secret Skill — And It's One He Shares With Prince George
In a rare move, Prince Harry revealed a hobby, his son Prince Archie is a master at and surprisingly, he shares it with his first cousin.
There had been a certain anticipation in the air when it was announced that Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet would join Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on their UK visit. The two siblings haven’t crossed the pond in four years, and the prospect of them reuniting with the royal family, and especially their grandfather, King Charles, had seemed endearing. However, the kids and Markle decided not to come to London with Harry. Despite his solo outing, the Duke of Sussex didn’t forget to give a shout-out to his children during a public engagement recently. In a rare move, he revealed a skill Archie is a master of, and interestingly, his first cousin, Prince George, also shares the hobby.
Harry visited the Birmingham Children’s Hospital on Thursday, where he met with the staff, patients, and their families. While chatting with a 12-year-old patient, the father of two proudly revealed via Hello!, “Do you know who’s obsessed with Lego? My son Archie – and he's a master builder.” It was an unexpected moment, as not much is known about Archie and Lilibet’s interests. Although the young prince was born in the UK, he lived there only for a few months before moving to the US with his parents.
Earlier this year, Prince William visited Bristol University to see the UK’s most powerful supercomputer, Isambard-AI. There, he was presented with three LEGO figures of engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel for his three kids, George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Vice-Chancellor and President of the University, Evelyn Welch, said later, via Hello!, “We were really delighted to give Prince William three little LEGO models of Isambard Kingdom Brunel to take back home to his children. And he left saying that he knew where to come when George needed help with his homework!"
Archie and Lilibet likely have had no contact with their first cousins, George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Despite the physical and emotional distance, the cousins share many interests. Lilibet and Charlotte are both fond of plushies and Jellycats, and now it seems that Archie and George both love LEGOs.
Although Archie, Lilibet, and Markle didn’t go to London with Harry, they are expected to join him when his tour reaches the Midlands. With Althorp closing to the public on July 10th and 11th, it is believed that the Duke will take his kids to see their grandmother, Princess Diana’s grave. As for Charles, a reconciliation is still not completely ruled out, despite the Buckingham Palace snub.
So far, Harry has had a rough week in the UK, the worst blow being the loss of his four-year-long legal battle against Associated Newspapers. However, he still has positive things to look forward to, as he is engaged in the Invictus Games events.
