Prince Harry Jokes About His Hair Loss and Unveils a New Name for His Ginger Locks

Laughing off his thinning hair on Joe Marler's podcast, Prince Harry admitted his hair routine is even simpler than his beard care.

Prince Harry once again proves he is funnier than he seems, and his self-deprecating humor hits the spot. During his appearance on former England rugby star Joe Marler's podcast, the conversation naturally drifted to his hair, which he spoke about quite frankly. When discussing his routine, he revealed there really aren't many steps involved.

During his appearance on the Joe Marler Will See You Now podcast, the Duke of Sussex was asked about his grooming habits. Laughing, Harry admitted his routine is pretty basic, consisting of a simple "[expletive], shower, and shave." He shared that he trims his beard every five or six days to keep it neat, before revealing that his hair requires even less effort—mostly because he avoids looking at it.

"Nothing really happening on top," Harry joked. "I get a haircut, otherwise I try not to look at what's happening. No. Um, and then, I don't think Jake, you, we don't need to go there." He even poked fun at his signature ginger hair, playfully revealing that he now prefers to call the color "sunset auburn."

Harry's hair has changed noticeably over the years, thinning across the top and making his bald spot more visible in certain lighting. It is a stark contrast to his younger days, when he was famous for his thick ginger locks—a trait often associated with Princess Diana's side of the family.

However, this is not the first time he has made fun of his own hair either. During his recent visit to the U.K., he stopped by Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre (NEC), which is set to serve as the main venue for the 2027 Invictus Games.

While talking to the crowd of athletes and volunteers, he said, “What has struck me walking around the arena today is just how many faces I recognize from those different groups that were part of that original journey back in 2014; some of us have lost our hair.” Clearly, the Prince has no problem laughing along with the changes that come with time.

After famously commenting on Prince William's hair loss in Spare—where he called his brother's baldness "alarming"—Harry is now laughing at his own thinning hair. Meanwhile, the Prince of Wales has made plenty of jokes about his own balding head over the years. During a recent visit to the Langstane Housing Association in Aberdeen, William mistook a mention of "air fryers" for "hair dryers" and quickly quipped, "Some of us don't need hair dryers."
