Sussex/Beckham Peace Summit: Meghan Markle Ends Victoria Beckham Feud With Shocking Gesture While on Recent Tour
Meghan Markle and Victoria Beckham's long-running feud may have ended thanks to a subtle Duchess-led gesture during a forum on her recent Colombia tour.
The long-running rift between Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and Victoria Beckham is likely no more thanks to a subtle hint of solidarity the Duchess sported at an event in Colombia. The ex-working royal wore an old Victoria 2020 line silk brown shirt during a summit on a "Responsible Digitial Future" in the South American nation next to Prince Harry.
The Duchess previously wore the blouse when endorsing President Joe Biden during the 2020 presidential election campaign. In fact, Victoria and Meghan, who both met in 2013, seemed to have been on friendly terms shortly before their rift took off since the former complimented the latter's Christmas Day 2018 outfit from her line.
"She looked so beautiful," Victoria shared on Live With Kelly and Ryan a few days later. "It was such a lovely surprise to wake up to on Christmas morning. I think that she's such a beautiful, strong, wonderful woman, so it was a huge honor."
It remains unclear if the feud between Harry and David Beckham continues, but a new rift in the wider Beckham/Sussex spat recently surfaced this past July. Neither last year's Harry & Meghan nor this cycle's Heart of Invictus on Netflix scored any Primetime Emmy nominations, with Beckham on the same network receiving five nods this year.
The nominations for TV's biggest night were revealed on Wednesday, July 17, and hopes were reportedly high with Team Sussex that Heart of Invictus would pull through with several nods in the nonfiction categories. Their self-titled blockbuster series the year before received zero mentions from the Academy, which allegedly "devastated" the Duchess of Sussex.
The follow-up program about Harry's Invictus Games failed to hit No. 1 in the streamer's rankings and struggled to even maintain status within the top ten after its August 30, 2023, release.
Beckham became a hit for the streaming giant when it dropped on October 4, of last year. But with both couples having a hit documentary on Netflix between them, it is clear who the Television Academy thinks has the talent.
"Making this series was such a personal journey, a love letter to football and my family," David told an outlet. "It has been overwhelming for me and Victoria that we have had such a warm and positive response to the series."
This round in the epic rift follows recent reports reflecting just how David sought vengeance against Harry for a 2018 snub allegedly instigated by Meghan.
"Beckham found himself alone at the Invictus Games stadium," author Tom Bower penned in his book House of Beckham. "Arriving on the agreed day to meet Prince Harry he was perplexed why officials were playing a dance to keep him happy, but away from Harry. Photographs of the two together were forbidden.
