Kate Middleton’s Sweet Gesture Toward Her Cancer Treatment Hospital Receives High Praise
Kate bravely fought with illness like cancer and emerged victorious, but the royal has not forgotten the ones who helped her through it all.
The royals might be worlds apart from the rest of us, but even they aren't immune to everything. The Waleses learned this firsthand when the future Queen was diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer in 2024. But Princess Kate did not let it affect her spirits and completed her chemotherapy treatment, going into remission by 2025. Since then, the Princess has expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and staff members who helped her combat those dark days and recently sent a special gift for them, as disclosed by Kensington Palace.

Although Kate is now back on her feet, shouldering and acing royal responsibilities, the Princess of Wales hasn't forgotten the brave souls still fighting the gruelling battle. Nor has she forgotten the true heroes who help them combat the illness. On March 13, Kate sent flowers and a handwritten message to The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. The organization specializes in cancer treatment and is the same unit where the Princess previously received treatment.
Sharing the post on X, Kensington Palace wrote, "To the Patients and Staff at The Royal Marsden, As spring arrives, these narcissi [also known as daffodils] from the Isles of Scilly are to say I am thinking of you all. Catherine." The same message was also written in the signed note that the Princess shared along with the flowers. In the carousel of photos shared in the same post, we could also see two women, one patient and a nurse holding hands with the daffodils arranged in a vase sitting on a table in front.
In another, we caught a glimpse of Kate's signed note, and the third slide featured a close-up shot of the flowers with the hospital’s milestone, “175 years of Royal Marsden," visible in the background. While the gesture of sending flowers and a card is special, the choice of blooms was also more symbolic, as daffodils are the national flower of Wales. Praising Kate's thoughtful gesture, a fan commented, "This actually brings tears to my eyes… she’s just stellar, in every way." While another added, "Royals sending flowers while the rest of the world sends thoughts & prayers via Wi-Fi. At least these ones actually showed up in real life."
Praising the hospital and its staff members for their services towards humankind and healing, a third netizen wrote, "They've been treating my Mum for eleven years, the staff there are wonderful." While a fourth penned, "I spent two months in the hospital with sepsis, and it was miserable. While my doctors were great, the nurses, and staff I saw dozens of times a day, and they were always a bright spot." They continued, "I wouldn’t have made it without their CONSTANT care. They don’t get enough credit."
