Kate Middleton’s Brother Celebrates Prince George’s ‘Big Day’ With A Sweet Message
Prince George started his secondary education at Eton College this week and his family couldn't be more proud of him.
It is certainly an emotional day for the Windsor and Middleton families, as Prince George officially started his secondary education at Eton College this week. Proud parents, Prince William and Kate Middleton, dropped off their firstborn at the prestigious institution on Tuesday. However, George’s uncle and the Princess of Wales’ younger brother, James Middleton, is equally ecstatic to celebrate his nephew’s “big day”. His excitement was palpable as he left a sweet message on social media recently.
Kensington Royal shared pictures of George wearing his Eton uniform on Instagram with the adorable caption, “George’s first day at Eton.” Proud uncle James wrote, “Big day,” with a red heart emoji in the comments section.
While the 13-year-old’s pictures in the black tailcoat and pinstripe trousers shared an uncanny resemblance to his father, William, and his photos from his Eton days, many Instagram users felt George looked like his uncle and maternal grandfather, Michael Middleton. One user on Instagram commented, “Very much can see you and Mike in George!”, while another mentioned, “He is a Middleton for sure! Looks like you and your father.”
William and Kate arrived at Eton with George on a rainy morning, armed with flimsy black umbrellas. The weather conditions created an unwittingly funny moment as the Prince of Wales struggled to open his umbrella, eventually giving up on fighting against the drizzle. The trio was left with only one umbrella, manned by the Princess of Wales. Despite the small, amusing hiccup, the family was all grins as they walked to meet the headmaster and provost of Eton College.
George gave William a subtle nod by wearing a baby-blue shirt and a polka-dotted dark blue tie, a combination similar to what his father wore on his first day at Eton in 1995. Interestingly, the Prince of Wales wore the same color palette on Tuesday as well, as the father-son duo appeared to be twinning.
George’s younger siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, hadn’t accompanied him on his first day at his new school. The younger royals will continue their education at Lambrook School, which their older brother also previously attended.
