Kate Is Allegedly Pushing Prince Harry to Come Home For Christmas — But There's a Catch
Kate Middleton, long regarded as the 'nurturer' of the royal family, is once again working to mend fences between Prince Harry and the royals. According to a source, the Princess of Wales has been operating behind the scenes to 'calm things down,' encouraging Harry to come home for Christmas. However, Middleton reportedly hopes her brother-in-law will set foot on UK soil without Meghan Markle. She allegedly believes Harry can act independently of Markle and should bring his children to visit their grandfather.
As per royal aides, Middleton is reportedly concerned that Harry is again risking severing ties with his family after his September meeting with King Charles. A Palace source told OK! magazine, "Kate has been working quietly to calm things down, and she's hoping Harry will come home for her favorite time of year, Christmas." They added, "She understands he feels pressured, but she also thinks he needs to prove he can act independently of Meghan and thinks he should make a point of returning home for family festivities, but without his wife." Another adviser echoed that the Princess had been urging the Duke on their private calls to make the first move if he wants to be back in the royal fold.
Middleton is also said to be worried about Prince William's patience being 'thinned to the bone' following Harry and Markle's public criticisms of the Firm. Commenting on the same, a friend of hers stressed, "She wants Harry – and particularly his children – to remain part of the family circle. She does not want to be seen as a homewrecker, but there is no love lost between her and Meghan, and Kate is reminding him that he doesn't need to walk away from where he comes from." Insiders also alleged that while Harry has been urging Markle to visit the UK, she reportedly is least interested, focused instead on her business ventures in California.
The years of strain, sources believe, have affected Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet the most. A Palace aide said, "Kate hates the idea of her children growing up without knowing Harry's two kids." They continued, "At the moment, she's [Middleton] making it clear that William won't even consider mending things if Meghan is involved. Kate is telling Harry that, sometimes, you have to put pride aside to protect what truly matters."
With the Sussexes not expected to attend the Christmas celebrations at Sandringham this year, Middleton, however, allegedly remains determined to keep the door open for her brother-in-law. An insider spilled, "It's not a quick fix, but she refuses to walk away from building bridges as she is a natural peacemaker and nurturer." Despite the many scathing statements Markle and Harry have made against the royals, the Princess reportedly hopes to piece the broken family back together.
