Prince Harry gave a bombshell interview to the BBC on May 2, just hours after the court ruled against his appeal for state-funded security. As the Duke of Sussex addressed his legal setback, he also leveled serious allegations against the royal family. Commenting on the interview, an insider has claimed that Prince William and Kate Middleton feel deeply ‘hurt and betrayed’ by Harry’s decision to yet again publicly air grievances.
During the BBC sit-down, Harry claimed his estranged family deliberately withdrew his security to discourage his move to the US. The insider told Us Weekly, “William is more hurt than anything else.” They revealed that William and Middleton aren't giving Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, “the time of day.” The source added, “No one on the staff can mention Meghan’s name to Kate right now; her name is basically banned because of the stress around it, and she doesn’t want it anymore.” The Prince and Princess of Wales are reportedly also refusing to take Harry’s name to have a “less stressful environment.”
Interestingly, Harry also made a public plea for reconciliation with his family in his interview. He said, “Life is precious. I don't know how much longer my father has, he won't speak to me because of this security stuff. It would be nice to reconcile.” Commenting on the same, the source alleged that while William and Middleton “can forgive Harry because he is family,” they absolutely “don't want to see Meghan again.” They added, “Everything changed when Meghan came into the fold. [But] she’s not to blame for everything, and Harry is a part of it. The first step is to stop talking to the public about private matters. They don’t see a path forward until Harry can stay quiet.”
A source told Page Six that William is planning to ban Harry from his future coronation over the damage he has caused the family. They slammed, “Before the interview, we thought, ‘Come on William, extend a hand to your brother. But now it seems that Harry hasn’t learned s–t.” Royal expert Hugo Vickers also told the outlet that while the Prince of Wales is required to 'theoretically' invite his younger brother, “he can do what he likes.” Vickers noted, “The Duke of Windsor was not invited to [his niece Queen Elizabeth’s] coronation in 1953. There was a lot of discussion about it.”
A friend of William has also revealed that the Prince of Wales thinks that Harry and Markle’s conduct has been 'absolutely vile'. The source told the Daily Beast that Harry's interview suggests “he [William] has no interest in reconciling.” William, the insider claimed, has 'had enough' of his younger brother’s antics.
