Beatrice and Eugenie Got 'Extraordinary Offers' to Tell Their Story And 'Clear Their Names'
Trigger Warning: This article contains themes of sexual abuse that some readers may find distressing.
The York name has taken repeated hits in recent years, largely due to the controversy surrounding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and his former wife, Sarah Ferguson, and their links to the convicted financier, Jeffrey Epstein. Yet, in many ways, it is Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie who have borne the consequences. For the most part, the sisters have kept a deliberate distance from the fallout, choosing discretion over public defence as scrutiny intensified around their father. Now, however, that restraint may be nearing its limit. Reports suggest they are considering a move that would be different from their usual approach — a potential sit-down interview designed to set the record straight and reclaim control of their own story.
According to reports, the York sisters have been left unsettled by the steady drip of revelations linking both of their parents to Epstein. Last month, the US Department of Justice released additional documents and images connected to the Epstein files. Among them were references to both Mountbatten-Windsor and Ferguson. The material included emails sent by Mountbatten-Windsor and photographs that appear to show him on all fours, among others images, that have once again circulated widely online.
Back in September 2025, it emerged that Ferguson had emailed Epstein apologising for criticising him in a media interview in 2011. Just a few weeks ago, amid the influx of new details, there were conversations between Fergusson and Epstein that had taken place after his release from prison for offences related to child trafficking, and another email, in which she also used a crude word about her daughter.
Women’s Day reported, quoting a well-placed source, saying, “Bea and Eugenie have had some extraordinary offers to tell their story, from Oprah Winfrey to exclusive Netflix deals, and they know it’s something they will have to address at some point. It’s increasingly important for them to clear their names, but they’re still not ready to badmouth their parents on TV, especially Beatrice–it’s just not in their nature.”
The suggestion is not that the sisters wish to escalate tensions within the family, but rather that they feel the need to draw a clear line between themselves and the controversy. While they have largely avoided commenting publicly, the cumulative effect of the allegations and repeated headlines has reportedly taken a toll.
Royal author Robert Jobson recently reflected on their position in comments to PEOPLE. “They are pretty torn because they believed [their father],” he said. “Just like the late Queen and Charles, Andrew told them all the same story - that he had done nothing wrong. My understanding is they feel pretty duped by the whole thing. I do think they believed their father, and now it has all backfired. I know that Eugenie, especially, has found it very difficult.” That sense of internal conflict appears to be shaping how the sisters respond privately. Reports have suggested that Eugenie has distanced herself from Andrew, while Beatrice is believed to have remained in contact.
