Zara Tindall Is the Spitting Image of Mom Princess Anne in Bridesmaid Photos Taken 30 Years Apart
Never-before-seen photos from 1964 show a 14-year-old Anne serving as a bridesmaid at the wedding of King Constantine II of the Hellenes.
Before Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling walk down the aisle and say their wedding vows on June 6, royal watchers are looking back at another memorable family wedding moment. Never-before-seen photos from 1964 show a 14-year-old Princess Anne serving as a bridesmaid at the wedding of King Constantine II of the Hellenes and Princess Anne-Marie of Denmark, and the resemblance to her daughter, Zara Tindall, when she was a bridesmaid at a similar age for Lady Sarah Armstrong-Jones is impossible to miss.
As per HELLO!, one of the photos shows a 14-year-old Anne standing along with the bridal party at the Metropolitan Cathedral, situated in Athens. She wore a floor-length white gown featuring cropped sheer sleeves, an empire waist with a bow, and a sparkling hem. While the other bridesmaids wore boat-neck designs, Anne's dress featured a more modest, rounded neckline and higher back. Pearl necklaces and floral headpieces woven into her curled bouffant hairstyle completed her look. It gave her a polished royal look that has become her signature style.
King Constantine II was wed to Anne-Marie, then 18, who was a third cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. Constantine, 24, was also King Charles' second cousin and Prince William's godfather. Their wedding date had been moved forward following the death of Constantine's father, King Paul, in March 1964. The couple had first met years earlier. It was during a Danish state visit, and King Frederik reportedly insisted his daughter should finish her education before any engagement announcement could be made.
Coming back to Anne, her soft features, blonde hair, and composed expression had a striking similarity to her daughter Zara Tindall when she was the same age. Images of Tindall, who was also a bridesmaid at Lady Sarah Armstrong-Jones' 1994 wedding, look uncannily similar to those of her mother. Tindall wore a flowing white gown with long sleeves and a fitted bodice while carrying a bouquet of pink roses. Her pulled-back blonde hair, calm demeanor, and graceful aura mirrored that of Anne years earlier.
The images have royal fans marveling at the resemblance, who hope to see the mother-daughter duo in synchronized style at the upcoming wedding of Peter Philips next week.
