Sarah Ferguson's Whereabouts Finally Revealed — and It's All About Princess Eugenie
Sarah Ferguson reportedly couldn't stop herself from coming out of her hiding to nurture the newborn and tend to Eugenie.
Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, recently shared delightful news with their fans: they welcomed their third child, a baby girl, on Monday, 3 August 2026, at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal. Following their announcement, Buckingham Palace also announced the happy news on Tuesday, confirming that both mother and daughter were doing well. While everyone is celebrating the arrival of the baby girl, it seems even her grandmother, Sarah Ferguson, couldn't resist coming out of hiding to nurture the newborn and tend to Eugenie.
As per reports from the Daily Mail via Hello, Ferguson has traveled to Portugal to be with her daughter Eugenie following the birth of her third child. The former Duchess of York is said to have quietly arrived in Melides, near Lisbon, where Eugenie and Brooksbank have been spending much of their time with their newborn. Fergie's whereabouts have been a mystery in recent months, as she has largely stayed out of the public eye, but now she is seemingly finally making a comeback.
Fergie's decision to stay with her daughter is not a huge surprise. HELLO!'s royal editor Emily Nash previously suggested that the disgraced royal would find it difficult to stay away from her new granddaughter. During a conversation in May, the expert had opined, "This baby will be born into very different family dynamics than those experienced by his or her older siblings. While their grandmother and grandfather have spent plenty of time with August and Ernest, they are likely to keep more of a distance this time around, although I’m sure Sarah will find it very hard to stay away from a new grandchild."
Portugal is extremely special to Eugenie and Brooksbank, as they have chosen to spend part of their family life there. The Princess previously praised the privacy and relaxed lifestyle the country offers. She shared, "Portugal is the dream because I can go to the supermarket in my exercise gear and my hair piled on my head and not mind. Not care. No one cares." And now even her mother has reportedly accepted Portugal as her new home.
For the unversed, Fergie's whereabouts have remained a mystery since her exit from the Royal Lodge. While many reported that she was staying in her friend's mansion, others claimed to have spotted her in Switzerland at a chalet called Les Gais Lutins. However, now Fergie has seemingly found a purpose. For now, it appears the Duchess may simply be keeping a low profile while being close to her daughter and newest granddaughter.
