Queen Camilla Pins On a Poppy — and Royal Fans Think They’ve Seen It Before
Queen Camilla has a penchant for symbolic brooches, but this time she took Kate Middleton's lead.
Queen Camilla and Kate Middleton have distinctly different choices for outfits and jewelry. However, the two stylish women sometimes converge on the same path with symbolic accessories. Earlier this week, the Queen Consort joined King Charles for the last leg of the historic Caribbean tour in Antigua and Barbuda. Eagle-eyed fans quickly noticed that the brooch Camilla chose to wear for the visit was the same one Middleton had worn in 2018.

The final stretch of Charles and Camilla’s Caribbean tour coincided with Remembrance Month, a poignant occasion honoring the military veterans who lost their lives in the line of duty. Throughout the month, the royals wear a red poppy as it is a symbol of sacrifice and resilience. So, although the King and Queen Consort were on tour, they wore a red poppy in Antigua and Barbuda. Earlier this week, Camilla wore a gold-plated poppy brooch that the then-Duchess of Cambridge had fashioned during a 2018 visit to the Imperial War Museum in London.
Camilla has a penchant for wearing meaningful brooches for every occasion. The stylistic difference between her and Middleton was apparent in the way they styled the red poppy brooch. While the Queen Consort paired it with a long-sleeved aquamarine dress, Middleton pinned it on a dark blue shift dress. The Royal British Legion, a charity that supports British Armed Forces and their families, produced the crystal-encrusted brooch in 2018. At the time, it reportedly cost $40 USD.

Along with his wife, Charles also wore a red poppy during his outings in Antigua and Barbuda earlier this week. He was spotted wearing a bright red brooch as he greeted fans and onlookers gathered to meet him in the Caribbean country. Before that, he made solo visits to the Bahamas and Guyana last week.
The royal family will mark Remembrance Day on Sunday. The family will gather at the Cenotaph in London to honor soldiers. Despite being in the UK, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will reportedly not join the rest of the family. As a military veteran, the moment may be emotional for the Duke of Sussex, and he may spend it privately with his family.

While it's certainly a solemn occasion, fans will look forward to seeing the entire royal family gathered under one roof, a rare sight.
