Sarah Ferguson ‘Resettling’ in the UK as She Focuses on Family, Spokesperson Reveals
The former Duchess of York is taking her time playing a doting grandmother to Princess Eugenie's newborn daughter.
Sarah Ferguson may have announced her return to the UK by attending a thanksgiving ceremony honoring her late ex, Paddy McNally, but that doesn't mean she'll make big public moves soon. The former Duchess of York has reportedly settled well into her Home Counties rental residence after a long stint abroad.

"She’s resettling here, lying low while she looks at the next stage. She’s happy spending time with her family and focusing on her relocation," her spokesperson told People magazine. "She is embracing her family life and seeing her grandchildren."
The former Duchess of York is taking her time as a doting grandmother to Princess Eugenie's newborn daughter, Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank, who joined the royal fold in August. Ferguson was spotted in the Austrian Alps, and her location was revealed in April after months of speculation. She and her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, remain in contact, though it is unclear whether they have met since her return to the U.K. Andrew lives in seclusion at the Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

"They have an ongoing cordial and supportive relationship as co-parents and co-grandparents," her spokesperson stated. The ex-couple have stayed in touch despite King Charles removing royal titles from his younger brother and revoking access to the Royal Lodge. Ferguson, linked to Epstein, has stepped back from public life amid scrutiny but has not been accused of wrongdoing. The investigation into her ex-husband continues, with Police Scotland confirming active inquiries related to Andrew's visits to Balmoral with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. The inquiries prioritize evidence and the needs of victim survivors, with police refraining from confirming specific details of the ongoing investigation. The former Duchess hasn't disclosed her plans as she seeks to “forge an independent life,” particularly in light of the Epstein controversy that intensified in late 2025.

Meanwhile, in September, Ferguson had denied rumors regarding a potential seven-figure book deal aimed at improving her reputation.
A spokesperson clarified that no such deal is under discussion and stressed that she is not writing a personal memoir. The Sun's report suggested she was close to signing a contract for a candid book addressing her past with ex-husband Andrew and various royal controversies, indicating that she sought to clarify her story and resolve financial issues.
