Prince William and Princess Kate have always tried to give Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis as normal a childhood as possible, despite cameras following their every move. They quietly reinforced this approach during their latest Wimbledon outing, where Kate introduced her children in a way that sounded far more like an everyday mom than a future queen.

It was a family day out for the Waleses at Wimbledon, as Kate and William brought along George and Charlotte to watch the men's final. Watching from the Royal Box on Centre Court, the family saw Jannik Sinner defeat Carlos Alcaraz to secure the championship.

Before taking their seats, the Wales family spent time meeting ball boys and girls, tournament officials, and other guests. As patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, Kate led the introductions, and one brief moment quickly caught fans' attention. While chatting with British tennis player Arthur Fery, she introduced her children simply as "George" and "Charlotte," leaving out their royal titles altogether. Watch the video here.

Although George, Charlotte, and Louis are all princes and princesses, their royal titles aren't something they use in everyday life. After King Charles ascended the throne in 2022, William and Kate became the Prince and Princess of Wales, and their children continued to hold the HRH styling they have had since birth. But away from official royal events, things are much more low-key. At school, for instance, the siblings simply go by the surname "Wales."

William and Kate seem to take the same laid-back approach to their own titles, too. The couple has never appeared overly concerned with formalities, even when people address them by their first names. That is exactly what happened during one royal engagement when a fan accidentally called the Prince of Wales "Will." Embarrassed, she quickly apologized, but the prince simply laughed it off, replying, "Don't worry, that's my name!"

Moments like this offer another glimpse into William and Kate's relaxed parenting style. Despite raising the future generation of the monarchy, they have consistently tried to create an environment where their children can simply be kids. A royal insider told PEOPLE, “A lot of it is the stabilizing normality Kate brings—and that’s how she grew up. William absolutely loves it.”

They added, “Coming from a different background, she appreciates the importance of having family time. She wasn’t brought up in that aristocratic setting where you see the children for a short time each day.” By stripping away the royal titles in casual settings, the Prince and Princess of Wales continue to show that, behind the palace gates and public duties, family always comes first.
