Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank have welcomed a beautiful new addition to their family, but one important detail is still keeping royal fans guessing. While the couple happily shared the news of their baby daughter's arrival, they have chosen not to reveal her name just yet. However, if royal tradition is anything to go by, there could already be a strong clue regarding at least one part of the little girl's name.

Eugenie announced the happy news on social media after welcoming her third child with her husband, Brooksbank, on Monday night in Lisbon, Portugal. Sharing an adorable photo of their newborn daughter dressed in a onesie and lying on her belly, the proud mother announced the happy news on Instagram, writing, "Jack and I are so excited to announce Baby Girl Brooksbank!! We are beyond in love with our girlie." Soon after the post, royal fans and well-wishers rushed to congratulate the couple, though many were left wondering about the baby's name.

The baby, who will not receive an HRH title, is now 15th in line to the British throne. Although the couple decided to keep their daughter's first name private for now, many believe her middle name may follow a well-loved royal tradition. For generations, numerous royal daughters, granddaughters, and great-granddaughters have been given the middle name Elizabeth in honor of the late Queen Elizabeth II. Because of that long-standing family custom, many royal watchers think Eugenie and Brooksbank may choose 'Elizabeth' as their baby girl's middle name too.

The tradition has been followed by several family members over the years. Princess Anne's full name is Anne Elizabeth Alice Louise, while her daughter is Zara Anne Elizabeth Tindall. Eugenie's older sister, Princess Beatrice, also carries Elizabeth as her middle name and passed it on to both of her daughters, Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi and Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi.

Other royals who share the tribute include Lady Louise Alice Elizabeth Mary Mountbatten-Windsor, Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, Lena Elizabeth Tindall, Isla Elizabeth Phillips and Prince Harry's daughter, Princess Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, whose first name comes from Queen Elizabeth II's childhood nickname. Interestingly, Eugenie herself was not given Elizabeth as a middle name because her sister already carried it. Instead, she was named Princess Eugenie Victoria Helena, with Victoria honoring another famous British queen.

Naming family members after loved ones is something Eugenie and Brooksbank have done before. Their eldest son is named August Philip Hawke, with Philip chosen in honor of Prince Philip, while Hawke comes from Brooksbank's side of the family. Their younger son, Ernest George Ronnie, honors several relatives, including King George V, Jack's father, George, and Eugenie's grandfather, Major Ronald Ferguson.

For now, royal fans will have to wait a little longer to learn Baby Girl Brooksbank's full name. But if family tradition continues, many believe one special middle name could already be written in royal history.
