Princess Beatrice’s Husband Accused of ‘Disrespectful’ Behavior at Church Service: Report
Amidst rumors of a rift, Princess Beatrice's husband Edoardo has been called out for his 'arrogance.'
At the moment, Princess Beatrice has been grabbing headlines, possibly for all the wrong reasons. Be it about her precarious role within the monarchy or the rumors of a rift between her and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. However, she can finally take a bittersweet sigh of relief as her husband shoulders the unpleasant reports this time. Former UK Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries recently accused Mozzi of 'arrogance' and 'immaturity.'
Writing for the Daily Mail, she recalled her 'experience' with the Italian real estate developer during a church service. She was seated ahead of Mozzi, Beatrice, her sister Princess Eugenie, and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, for the occasion. “Edo was laughing loudly and generally behaving like a disrespectful teenager so that, at one point, I turned round and gave him the evil eye that only a woman my age—and a mother—can bestow,” she said.
Although Dorries gave him 'credit' for immediately rectifying his behavior, she was not entirely happy about his demeanor. “To his credit, he got the message, pronto. But there was an arrogance there that smacked of immaturity.”
Earlier this month, it was being speculated that things were not alright between Beatrice and Mozzi. The latter was apparently worried that his father-in-law, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's, involvement in the Epstein scandal was not good for his business. However, the couple’s friends have categorically denied the rumors, calling them 'complete nonsense.' However, the estrangement stories were further bolstered after Mozzi recently went to the US for a work trip, without Beatrice, who has been busy dealing with her own issues in the UK.
The news prompted Dorries to write that the couple should just shift to the US if that’s where Mozzi’s business interests lie. “Their daughters are young, and if Edo’s business interests are mainly in the US, then that should be the destination. If the marriage is hard-going now, then it is only going to get trickier if they are apart for long periods,” she wrote. At the moment, Beatrice and Mozzi are primarily residing in the Cotswold country house in Oxfordshire with their two daughters, Sienna and Athena.
Dorries further advised Beatrice to follow her younger sister, Eugenie’s, path to make her 'marriage work.' The latter stays in Portugal with her husband and two children, August and Ernest. “It seems to me that Beatrice has two choices. The first is to make her marriage work, and for that to happen, she should follow in the footsteps of her sister—Eugenie is based in Portugal with her husband Jack Brooksbank and their two sons—and leave the UK,” Dorries said. So far, neither Beatrice nor Mozzi has made any official comment on the ongoing chatter.
